In 4 days the day I made you leave will be 4 months ago.

I will have been 21 for 4 months as well.

I started fitting into my life again.

I'm doing wonderfully well.

You were right about college.

I love my new lectures and crave every book recommended.

I'm going to the gym again.

I quit smoking (well, almost)

and I can sleep sober.

Betty is well,

though she still looks around,

wagging her tail

everytime there's the sound of a skateboard flipping.

I met a guy.

He's so beautiful.

And tall.

And healthy.

He looks down on everything I made a home in.

He doesn't do it on purpose.

I think, that's part of the reason he's so whole.

In the places we were empty and fitted into each other,

he's full of himself.

Every word he says dulls his sparkle.

You'd puke on the music he likes.

But I like the way we don't need each other.

I'm not writing this because I want us back.

I'm not ready to be part of an „us“.

But when I drove by the house you used to live in earlier,

I remembered how you claimed I'd have forgotten you in a heartbeat.

(and you were so sure of that.)

Here are some facts:

no one smells as good as you

when you were gone, I cried for 2,75 days and drank for 2 weeks.

I kissed every pair of lips available to cover up your taste on mine. It didn't work

It took 11 bottles of Tequila, 27 packs of red Gauloises and 7 boxes of condoms for me to not question every breath I take anymore.

You were the last person I could sleep beside

that heartbeat now lasts 3 months and 27 days...and counting.
