But if you really think you need to take a break, then perhaps give it a chance... See if it helps any. You can always try to start anew, too, if you truly hate where things are going.

If you're not having fun with things anymore, then don't let anyone try to make you stay. Rping is about having fun, you shouldn't stress over it! I do hope you come back though, even if you do restart Eq or make a different character.
