The centre piece of 101 Cafe in Miri is a photomural of Miri in the late 60s. We love to sit near it (and take selfies) especially those of us who are old enough to know better. Maureen (& husband), Dayang Imat and Uncle hot together at Maureen (iChai)’s favourite cafe to a catch up and chinwag about days in Marudi. We had a nostalgic roti kawin to start, bread toasted over charcoal and married with kaya jam and butter. That went down a treat with kopi-o or teh C. Cafe 101 is famous for their pan mien. The noodles are straight & thin or flat. They are made with spinach, cangkok manis or moringa, hence the greenish colour. Uncle was struck by how similar it was to fettuccine. The noodles have a base oil rich in flavour and served with tasty pork mince. You can have a runny egg on top.
