Aug 28 part 3: Turtles!
August 28th: I will now share a million photos of the “Monarch-Palooza” fest we attended last Sunday at the North Park Village Nature Center, a place I consider to be one of Chicago’s greatest gems.
We arrived during the ribbon cutting of their new VIP garden, however those photos have a lot of other kids in them so I won’t post.
Above, the kids got to see every stage of the butterfly life cycle in real life. Every hour or so, we got to watch as the ceremonious release of one of these newly-hatched (hatched? de-cocooned? metamorphasized?) raised butterflies.
August 22-25: Mom & Dad Visit!!
Photos: Jacob Park on Monday (Grandma Ro leads the kids in some races); River Park tot swim Tues morning; before & after dinner at Rockwell’s Weds night.
This was a welcome and relaxing visit -- thank you mom & dad!
More Catch-up photos for August:
8/20. Our girl has become quite the climber. Taken by daddy.
Elliott's last hurrah of 2016 in the Welles Park sprinkler! (I hope?)
Friday August 19th. Ah, I remember this day! The great swimming pool tour. We registered Maddy for preschool (there's her classroom!) with swim gear in tow to go to River fam swim afterwards. But it began to pour, so I ran home with the double stroller, got kids into the car and drove them to Welles for indoor fam swim! But Welles was closed for a swim meet!! Ahhh. (I kind of love this pic of the kids all dejected on the sidelines). By then the sun was back out so we could have just gone to River. Instead we did Welles park sprinkler, gazebo lunch, and then actual swimming at Maddy's swim school's family swim hour! The lengths we will go for swimming...
Thursday 8/18... Elliott wears one of daddy's metal shirts (and a #daddyshirt trend begins). We had a play date and later went to the playground. I have no idea what happened to August 16 & 17 but I do know I have 100 photos of items to sell so I guess I was busy cleaning stuff out.
