A few weeks ago, I turned 29. That means, in one short year, I will hit the big 3-0.
It doesn't really feel real to be honest...I remember as a kid trying to work out how old I would be in prominent years: "In the year 2000, I'll be 15!" etc. It felt strange back then but it feels even stranger now to say "In 2015, I'll be 30".
However, I'm not the kind of person to find hitting an age milestone a bad thing. It's just a number after all, and just because I'll no longer be in my twenties, does that mean I have to mope around, feel that the fun part of my life is over and complain about the millions of wrinkles that have appeared on my face overnight (dear God, is that an age spot on my hand?!). No. It's ridiculous to think like that.
I think that this time of my life should be a celebration. I've done some wonderful and awesome things over the last 29 years and I intend to keep doing wonderful and awesome things.
Which brings me to the point of this blog / challenge / bit of fun.
I have created a list of "30 Things To Do Before I'm 30". As the list says, I'm trying to focus on things to DO rather than things to STOP DOING. There are a few minor exceptions but it should read as a positive list that will mean that my friends, my family and I can all do some fun, weird and potentially challenging stuff over the next 11 months or so.
(N.B. I know that loads of people in the online sphere do stuff like this so it's not a new phenomenon, but I do hope you'll still find it interesting!)

So there we have it. I'm going to print off a list and pin it to the notice board at home, and carry a list with me, probably on my phone, otherwise I think I might turn into that dude from the TV show that carries a scrappy list with him all the time (seriously, what was that called??)
Anyway, please feel free to help me along my progress, join in, have fun...or tell me I'm strange. I don't mind either way.
Here we go...at least I've started on point number 1!
