Character Asks are Closed Drabble - Movie Time!!
thanks for sending in all the asks guys!!
-
“Kid, there was that new movie you and Monkey King wanted to watch, wasn’t there?” Pigsy asked, as everyone stood in the general room of the theatre. Red Son had gone behind the counter and was running the popcorn machine.
“Yeah- yeah!!! It’s a new movie based on Monkey King-” MK started, and was cut off by Macaque.
“Ugh, literally every movie lately has been based on Wukong... aren’t they ever going to do anything different?” He said, trying to stand up straight to pose mockingly at Wukong, only to wobble when he tried, going back to using MK for balance.
“Unfortunately for you, Macaque, that’s the movie we’re gonna be watching tonight.” Mei said, gleefully skipping off to the theatre room that had the poster for the lasted Wukong movie in front of it. “C’mon guys, lets go!!!”
-
Twenty minutes later, they had yet to start the movie.
“What is taking Monkey King so long?” Tang asked, glancing up at where the projector for the movie was. “He said he knew how to do this...”
“Should we go check on him?” Sandy asked, and everyone glanced at each other.
“Psh, he probably doesn’t know how the newer machines work.” Macaque said, trying to stand up, using the chairs to keep himself up. Red Son rolled his eyes, standing up to help the monkey up.
“Don’t worry about it.” The fire demon said, “We’ll go up there and get things going.”
-
10 minutes later, and the movie finally started playing. Red Son and Wukong returned, Wukong carrying a once-again asleep Macaque.
“He sure passed out again quick...” Pigsy started, a suspicious look in his eyes. Red Son quickly cleared things up.
“He decided to try for ‘lucky stabbing attempt number 45′ and passed out after coming out of the shadows.” He said, “Monkey King’s given him... some kind of earmuffs made outta magic to keep the movie from waking him up.”
-
The movie ended faster than they had thought it would, the credits playing as they all sat there in silence.
“Well, that was inaccurate.” Was Wukong’s statement.
“Hey- hey MK.” Mei poked MK’s shoulder, “How many times do you think we could watch that movie before the snowstorm stops?”
“I don’t know... Lets test it out!!” MK said, grabbing onto Red Son’s arm and dragging him back up to the projector room.
-
In total, the group watched the movie a total of 15 times before an actual employee came in the next morning and kicked them out. Turned out the weather station had gotten control of the storm and melted the snow overnight and none of them had noticed.
There was a bit of sluggishness to the group, most of them tired- other than Macaque, who had spent the whole time asleep.
“...You know, there is one thing I’ve been wondering.” Tang fell back to walk beside the shadow monkey. “How exactly did you overexert your powers in the first place?”
Macaque froze.
“...Would you believe me if I said it wasn’t the 42 failed stabbing attempts within one week?”
“Not a chance.”
