As we celebrate the first day of winter (or the first day of spring depending on where you are in the world,) we hope you'll make time to stop by our blog to read how our Marketing Officer Kae brought some winter warmth to a family in need.
And we also hope you'll share your kindness stories with us on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram by tagging #RandomActs and #GetKind.
P.S. Don't forget to let your friends know about our Random Acts Kindness Crusade on Crowdrise. The Giving Tower Challenge this week will award $10,000 to the charity that gets the most donations - not the most money donated, but the largest number of individual donations. So every little bit helps!
This December, we asked the team at Random Acts to share their own kindness stories. We’ll be featuring a few each week through our 12 Acts of Kindness blog, and asking you to tell us how an act of kindness (that you performed or that was performed for you,) changed your life.
Today we’re celebrating Destination Project Manager Tracy Liu’s act of kindness for a feral cat colony. Along with the help of Julia, a volunteer at A Dog's Life Rescue, and few friends, the group set out to make the living conditions for a few ferals cozy for the coming months.
We hope you’ll visit our blog to read our ninth story, and that you’ll tag your stories on Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram with #RandomActs and #12ActsofKindness.
P.S. Just a reminder that Random Acts if participating in Crowdrise's Giving Tower Challenge this December. This week’s challenge (starting at 2:00 p.m. ET on December 16) gives the charity that gets most donations (not the most money, but the largest number of individual donations) during the week $10,000. So every little bit helps!
So even if you can’t participate by donating, we hope you’ll tell your friends and perform a few random acts of kindness in honor of our Kindness Crusade.
"We’re here for a reason. I believe a bit of the reason is to throw little torches out to lead people through the dark." - Whoopi Goldberg
You never know how much one random act of kindness can change the world. A kind word and a smile can change someone’s day and sometimes someone’s life. That person may be you.
So while you’re out there spreading kindness this December, don’t forget to be kind to yourself too. You’re amazing and you inspire us each and every day.
Have a great week.
Here at Random Acts we want to say thanks to all those everyday heroes out there working to improve and enrich the lives of those around them. Teachers, healthcare workers, those who work for the emergency services, tireless volunteers, and everyone else striving to make the world a little brighter in their own way - you have our thanks and an official “mad props!”
We hope you're inspired by our 12 Acts of Kindness to thank some of these community heroes or maybe even perform an act of kindness on their behalf.
Who are you thankful for today and every day? Share your stories and pics by tagging #RandomActs and #GetKind. We love hearing from you.
P.S. Don’t forget you can nominate an everyday hero (or two or four or ten) through Caught in the Act. The last day to make nominations for 2014 is December 31.
