Day two of @_mahou 's #12daysofcosplaytips Todays tip Wonder-Under. Wonder-Under is paper backed fusible adsehive that is used mostly for applique. It is wonderful because it can make have an adsehive back. Which make putting a symbols on a shirt or cloak so much easier. To use Wonder-Under draw or trace out the shape you need on the paper side in reverse as you going to be butting the adsehive on the wrong side/ bottom of you fabric.Then cut around the shape leaving at least 1/2 inch all around it. Next iron you piece to the wrong side of your fabric. Cut out your shape and you can either leave the edges raw or you can do a single small hem using an iron to tack it down. Next you place you shape on you piece where you want it and iron it down. If you left the egdes raw you are going to want to satin stitch all around it to cover the edge. If you hemed your shape you can just to a normal top stitich close to the edge. Day one of @_mahou 's #12daysofcosplaytips Todays tip fabric medium. Fabric medium is porduct that you mix with normal acrylic paints trun them in to fabric paint. You mix half acrylic paint and half fabric then paint whatever you need on to your fabric. Once the paint is completely dry you heat set it with either and iron on a cotton setting or in a dryer. After it is heat set what you have is flexible paint on you fabric what will not crack or peel off. With fabric medium you are not limited to only the colors of fabric paint sold at a store. You mix the exact color you to add that extra detail to your cosplay. I use GAC-900 by Golden, it is the best fabric medium I have found. It is a little expansive but it last forevers and you will be able to use it on tons of projects. I used less then half of my bottle for all the patches in two different punk cosplays, all of Gleacon, and two different shirts. It is great stuff. You can get GAC-900 at Micheals, Joanns and other art stores.
