For Margaret Cho
Dear Margaret, I shouldn't be surprised with how people are treating you, because humans as a whole are devoid of common courtesy and decency. But I think your strength despite the negative respondents to your demands for justice not just for and to yourself but for anyone who has been victimized is more than admirable, it's quite heroic. I think by you being so open and honest it causes people who are insecure about their past and present to be hateful and violent because the only decent response to the vulnerability you've shown is empathy. Unfortunately some people see vulnerability and empathy as weakness in themselves and choose to compensate that with self-righteousness and false apathy. In other words, you being you only causes the true nature of people to appear and by seeing their own true nature will either respond with support or spittle. Let there be no doubt though, you should never have had to experience the lowest levels of humanity in your past or deal with the vultures in your present. So I encourage you Margaret, when you hear or read the vile and repugnant to find comfort in the fact that you know those people have been hurt too and they've just revealed it to the world. You've forced them out of hiding! Now that their wounds have been exposed, your journey and other kind and wonderful people like you, can show them how to heal. Be safe. With love, TCCB
