It’s not every weekend that you get to hole up in a woodsy AirBnb with a close friend who lives 2,000 miles away from you. My friend Lexie and I did just that last November and made the most of every minute — much like how I made the most of every square inch of this scrapbook page about our trip! 😂 I used a patterned paper and a few bits from the @aliedwardsdesigninc travel release from last year and filled the rest of the page with photos and journaling. Here’s the full view of the double page spread I made for Day in the Life. (Detail shots are in the previous post.) I followed a similar template from when I did this project in 9x12 last year, but I converted it to 12x12 by adding journaling cards down the sides of my pages instead of in a separate insert. I participated in Day in the Life back in October while we were still mostly living out of boxes, and it was the first thing I scrapped in my new crafty space! Years ago, I settled in on a general format for DITL where I use a limited number of photos printed in black and white on a two page spread, and it always makes the project come together so easily and fit right into my regular album. I love the peek it provides into the details of our lives! I used my stash for this one - more cards from that awesome AE storytelling basics collection from a couple of years ago and some bits from past kits. I even made a shaker pocket! More hexagons & Epcot! Here’s the second page I made with the latest @aliedwardsdesigninc Quarterly Scrapbook Kit. When I received my hexagon-themed Quarterly Scrapbook Kit from @aliedwardsdesigninc, I immediately thought of my favorite geodesic sphere (Epcot’s Spaceship Earth, of course!) and decided that I’d use the kit to tell six little Epcot stories from our last trip to Disney World. I’m so drawn to the papers in these kits that act like ready-made page templates, so I chose the paper with this circle of hexagons as the starting point for my page.
