On my recent drive through Houston's East End, I saw this rusting sign for the Milby Barber Shop and doubled back to photograph it. I wonder how long it's hung there?
The Second Bar and Kitchen in Austin. The kitchen is located inside the Austonian and they serve all sorts of dishes but all with a twist. Very cool place to eat at if your in Austin.
This sign is just funny looking to me.
Recently, I grabbed my camera and drove up to Livingston, a small town about an hour north of Houston. My favorite thing was the number of old signs still preserved around town. The Galloway Motel is on Business 59, the original route of US 59 through town, while The Fain Theater has been showing movies continuously since 1948. A woman working inside said they were finally getting ready to change over to digital projectors.
I came across this vintage neon sign in Bridge City, Texas, a town halfway between Port Arthur and Orange. The business is long gone, and the sign probably hasn't been lit in years. Some things need to be photographed because they could be gone the next time we drive by...
I thought this was the creepiest and craziest sign i've seen, it was from when we were exploring Texas Avenue as well.
I saw this sign before leaving the parking lot of the post office. I like that it is there to remind everyone to buckle up in order to be safer for everybody.
