I went to the Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown near my house for my second assignment of the cultural report. I like the atmosphere of the cemetery though if you are interested in more details of my experience then I would suggest to read my Blogger about it.

I went to the Post Office building today to mail some items and I took a chance to take pictures of the place.

I saw this sign before leaving the parking lot of the post office.  I like that it is there to remind everyone to buckle up in order to be safer for everybody.

I quickly captured this interesting and beautiful morning sky with the sun behind the clouds while getting my McDonald's breakfast before class.

These two pieces of jewelry (bracelets) are some of the many that my mother loves and has within her huge and many jewelry boxes/cabinets. I picked these as they were in my opinion to be pretty but not too loud or gaudy.

I noticed that the company had placed a mural inside their building on one of their walls. The picture above represents them but it is not their logo.

Before I began to work, I noticed that the company had landscaping come in to take care of their front flower plants and the pictures above where the result of that. In my opinion, the landscaping was very well done and the flowers that were picked were very beautiful.

On my way home from school, I noticed this portion of mural and street art that advertises the Westcoast Donut & Full Espresso Bar. I honestly liked the art as it was very creative.

On the way home after our school field trip on Friday, we saw this monument that had four important men as statues/sculptures. The quote read, "A Tribute To American Statesmanship" and I liked it.

At the end of our lunch after our trip on Friday, January 3, 2014, my friend and I decided to go to check on some signs or bus stops or places where the artists of the Street Art that I saw in the documentary film called Stick 'Em Up would place their work in. My friend found this one hidden behind a sign for pedestrians walking on the street. I am so glad to at least capture one Street Art piece ever since my friend and I began to see many on the way of our trip in the van.

After the field trip was over, we decided to have some lunch before going back to school in order to go home in our cars. I saw these two paintings when I went towards the restroom in order to wash my hands before eating. The cat lady painting was near the door of the ladies restroom while the chimpanzee painting was near the door of the restroom for men. Very interesting and pretty paintings of an attempt to humanize them in a strange way.

Here are some more interesting tombstones, grave markers, or sculptures/statues in Olivewood Cemetery. Some of the markers have some interesting quotes. However, there was one grave that was one of the most interesting of them all (the first picture from above) since it has the name of W. A. Harris in a direction of a reflection as if they wanted the one who is at rest to be able to remember who they were. Some of these graves where those who were born slaves and died free.

In the last part of our field trip on Friday, January 3, 2014, we visited the Olivewood Cemetery. There were several interesting grave markers, statues, sculptures, and more. I found reverends, mothers, wives, and doctors. Some of them were born slaves before they died free. It was a very interesting way to end the trip.

I took some more pictures of the Betz Art Foundry sculptures that caught my eye including the ones that emotionally touch me since I have family in the military.

While we were on the second part of our field trip, we came upon a lucky break: an art gallery of metal-sculpting. The Betz Art Foundry was a small gallery but full of interesting sculptures made of metal and some nice paintings.

During the field trip on Friday, I found this mural piece on a wooden board that was probably a larger part of a mural piece for somewhere else. It looked interesting enough that I am curious on where it would be placed and what the complete mural piece looks like.

During our field trip on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, we went to our second part of the trip where we saw giant statues that were sculpted to resemble many things such as our presidents of the USA, a strange clock, some famous rock band, and more. These pictures from above are some of those that caught my attention based on whether I know them, or they look familiar to me though I cannot remember their name, or they look very cool in my opinion.
