so many things i have begged for. to feel. to not feel anything. for a pain i can live with. for something to stay. for everything to end. a reason to live. myself, back.
what did i get?
in the end [which it is not], myself.
what remains are the hollow reminders of a past i have to bear, a past i cannot outrun, only face.
and i am looking [trauma] dead in the eye and say ‘you do not own me, you never did, you never will’.
but i know there will be days where i am just endlessly tired. and even though i am not falling as deep as i did, i sometimes still do.
will it always be this exhausting?
