Well, we don't really know what James is so worried about, as we don't know what occurred. But what we do know is that James is actually just as insecure in their relationship as Lily, just in different ways. So no, James doesn't really trust in Lily's feelings for him, whatever they are. That was the whole reason behind his outburst in 25.
