Strange one. Unlike yesterday, tonight was about having to watch a mind that simply couldn’t help but Hong Sau. I have a tendency to watch my breath intently when I am supposed to be doing other things as well, such as adding the Hong Sau to the moving breath. This seems to be happening often now. That’s ok. This happened yesterday: I watched the breath alright but I simply couldn’t add the Hong Sau to it. Tonight, the tensing and relaxing exercise was lost out on totally because I had hit depths where such things are lost. Just happy to have meditated. It’s a hundred times better than not doing it.

Added on 19 January: For a few nights now, I have been getting hooked to one meditation exercise or the other and then carrying on with the hooked exercise indefinitely. It’s almost as if the super conscious mind has thought lanes where there are no brakes, no speed breakers, smooth tracks. It is so, so that it can keep any particular thought in orbit. So depending on the exercise that makes me hit one of these infinite lanes, the attention finds it difficult to change gears and shift lanes until quite later in the session.
