Akira is a silk tycoon and despite being 1/4 French he knows little to none of the language, but his wife Ayame comes with him on business trips as his aide and translator. Ayame is very much a girlboss, and her modern girl/mogal image goes perfectly along with her graceful yet unapologetic personality, voicing her thoughts without permission and always with an assured smile on her face. Ayame knows how much she means to Akira, and he shows this every chance he gets. While he’s a cold and calculating businessman, Akira melts in the presence of his wife and would truly do anything for her.
Akira is also genderqueer and bisexual, and uses he/they/she pronouns. Ayame is pansexual. One reason Akira agrees to go to France for leisure with his wife is that he can express his identity there without worrying, something he can’t do in Japan.
