Birthday screening with pals I had not seen in forever. Hot dogs on the grill. My wife got me a DQ cake where they messed up the messaging in the most incredible way. Gorgeous print of Dr. Strangelove gifted to me several years ago by the former producer of Saturday Night at the Movies. Amazing night. Highly recommend.
That weird-ass TCM Dick Tracy special last week has me wanting to re-watch the Beatty movie, but I scanned the VHS box of this condensed version of the 1937 Ralph Byrd serial The Spider Strikes (you can watch the first episode here). Incredible how the public domain hounds always jumped on material like this and some poor kid would buy this at Woolco or K-Mart and come home only to be very disappointed.
