pauly mancini leaves a controversial legacy. while he’s given vegas the midas casino, the most coveted spot in town, and provided countless jobs to hundreds in the area, the rise of crime can’t go unnoticed. and if it was a damn mess when the man was alive, nobody can fathom the outcome now that he’s gone. 

his death, ruled a poisoning, beckons foul play & leaves more questions than answers. for now, the family and syndicate has hosted a private funeral solely meant for them   -----  and while the details of pauly’s will are still kept under wraps, there is one stipulation that has been made very clear: his memorial shall not be a somber affair. 

thus comes the real goodbye. 

the hotel is hosting a wild, lavish party in memory of its founder. a big band playing, dancing showgirls, endless amounts of liquor; it’s a flashy affair, just the sort of farewell that pauly would’ve adored and the only proper way to bid such bold force of nature adieu. 

it’s a grand event one can only dream of, but one can only wonder what such loud music and bright lights can attract. authorities ? enemies ? both ? suppose we’ll just have to see . . . 

1959hq’s FIRST EVENT ! beginning today, march 8th, at 11am pst  /  1 pm cst  /  2  pm  est  /  7 pm  gmt,  we’ll be endeavoring on our first event that will last until this sunday, march 10th  !  be sure to post all starters in the 1959.event tag, and keep an eye out for upcoming plot developments !

         “c’mon, boys, surely there’s enough moonshine to go around,” jimmy pats the huge, dense arm of the muscle at the door to no avail. evidently law enforcement isn’t invited to the party, rightfully so given jimmy certainly isn’t there for the liquor. his easy grin doesn’t falter though, he tilts his head. “what, you want for me to flash a badge around, make it into a whole scene? at pauly’s party?” around the fleshy shoulder of the guard, jimmy catches a familiar eye. he waves them over. “wouldn’t want me to come back around with friends, have to break up the whole shin dig... hey there-- tell the lugs i’m a guest, won’t ya?”

*   /   𝔴𝔥𝔦𝔩𝔢 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔠𝔦𝔫𝔦𝔰 𝔭𝔩𝔞𝔶 .  .  .

                   some business has to be carried out as usual. a few newbies are selected to go on a weapons run, giving the seasoned contraband runners an evening to enjoy themselves. as far mancini business goes, this is fairly by the book. 

news of pauly’s memorial spread like wildfire through the city, and most of its inhabitants are living it up at the midas. however, the enemies that have been biding their time take the distraction as an opportunity. one particular gang, mobsters of the irish mafia that have slowly been filtering into the city, decide to take matters into their own hands. 

the weapons run is intercepted, and two out of the three newbies are killed immediately in a brutal fashion. the third is barely spared, though three of his fingers are cut off by the enemy’s brazen underboss   ----  not to mention beaten within an inch of his life. he’s hastily dropped off in the lobby of the hotel, barely conscious and barely recognizable. a note is attached to his bloodied coat that reads: the mancini era is over. your new kings are coming soon. some of them may already be under your nose. 

opposing gangs have always been around, but this one has always had pauly a little unnerved . . . even if he refused to acknowledge it out loud. they’ve sent dozens of threats over the years, and he simply swept them under the rug. with his leadership gone and the state of the mancinis up in the air, ravenous enemies have begun to encroach. the mancini syndicate can no longer keep going without a proper leader, though who that should be seems to be the question. two deaths have occurred under this watch, and everyone knows that’s only the beginning.

fingers are being pointed at the staff of the hotel and various associates: are they willing to go the full mile and pledge their complete loyalty to the mancinis ? or have they already been swayed by outsiders ?

PLOT UPDATE: staff of the midas are often assumed to be aligned to the mancini family, though their loyalties have never been bluntly declared. with the death of young mancini members & the presence of new threats, the staff will be pressured to prove their loyalty and become fully embedded within the syndicate’s dna. if they refuse or worse, if they’ve been compromised -----  well, who knows what can happen ? the opposing gang will arrive soon enough, and the mancinis are still without proper leadership. the time to begin a new era of the mancini legacy begins NOW.
