Framed (Titanic/1990 Reddie Crossover)

The officer had a tight grip on both of them as he escorted Eddie and Richie back to the first class. He was so blindly in love with Richie that Eddie believed this escape plan would be a lot easier. Who was he kidding? Myra always had a trick up her sleeve. That’s how she forced this engagement on him.

Before he could reach across to hold Richie’s soft hand, Myra stood at the entrance leading down the hallways to his stateroom. That look of relief didn’t hide her disgust.

“Eddie! You have had your mother and I worried sick!” she scowled, her voice dipping into that annoying worried tone. “Officer, I can take them, thank you!”

Myra stood right next to Richie. Very closely. Richie turned his nose up at the woman. “Ah, skunk perfume. That attracts a man.”

Eddie giggled, but not for long. Right when they walked into his stateroom there was the master of arms. Ben was standing in a corner, shame written in his eyes. And his mother was sitting tearfully on the couch with - the drawing sitting on the coffee table!

“Two valuable possessions of mine were taken this evening. Now that one of them has returned -” Myra eyed Eddie with pure disdain. Instead of cowering, he grumbled. “I can only guess where the other has gone.” She snapped her fingers and pointed a finger at Richie. “Search him!”

“What? God, I didn’t do anything!” Richie argued as the officers removed the clack jacket he was wearing and searched all his pockets. 

“Myra, what are you doing? This ship has hit an iceberg. We could be - ”

“Is this it?”

Everyone stared appalled at Richie. His eyes wife, too, shaking his head. Eddie’s mother gasped beginning to cry all over again. Eddie was dumbfounded. 

“My ring! I knew he took it!” Myra swiped it back and immediately placed it on her finger.

“Horse shit! I didn’t take that!” Richie charged forward but he was restrained by an officer.

Eddie was quick to believe the man. “No, this isn’t right. Richie was with me the entire evening!”

Myra came up very close to his ear. “Well, maybe he could have gone out of your sight,” and she whispered. “Like when you were putting your clothes back on.”

Eddie was as stiff as a statue, his whole world stopping like a clock. Feeling like his chest was going to explode his mother raced over to him with the inhaler that he never needed. Still, Eddie took it from her needing to breathe. 

The officers dragged the fighting Richie out of the room who continued to shout Eddie’s name. Eddie wanted to run to the door but Myra grasped his face cooing at him like a baby. Swiping her hand away, and escaping from his mother’s arms, Eddie bolted to the door. 

“He didn’t do it! He’s innocent!” It was too late. Richie was already gone. Why- why didn’t he stick up for him? Was he ever going to learn to stand up for himself?

A hand fell on his shoulder. “Eddie, we need to talk!”

Eddie slapped her hand away. “You set this up!”

“Oh, see that that horrid man has done to you? Didn’t I tell you that he’d brainwash you?” His mother warned him, her voice shaking. Her whole body was shaking. An ounce of empathy struck Eddie but not enough to make him forget about the situation. This was how she treated him his whole life. She never let him live his own life, keeping him restricted under her watch so he wouldn’t run away.

“My dear Mother Kaspbrak, please go sit down? Ben, be a dear and make her some tea,” Myra kindly helped his mother into her bedroom. Ben tried to get out of it, giving Eddie a look. Shoving him into the room, and shutting the door, Eddie and Myra were alone.

Eddie walked forward, pointing a finger at the bitter woman. “Myra, that was -”

He found himself on the ground in a matter of seconds, his glasses lying near the small coffee table. His face stung. Touching it, he could feel the marks from Myra’s sharp nails. His chest felt tight again. Bending down to him, Myra was speaking but he couldn’t make out the words. Eddie did, however, manage to notice that she was hovering the inhaler right in front of his mouth.

Smacking it away, the inhaler hit against the wall, cracking into several pieces. Eddie couldn’t believe that he did. But a part of him felt rejuvenated. 

Myra grasped his chin roughly and forced the mand to look at him. “Eddie, you may have crossed me by having relations with another man, but you cannot escape me. From now on you do what I say when I say it! Do you understand me?”

Taking a deep sigh, Eddie couldn’t help but have a tear run down his cheek. Weak. He was just a weak man. Richie - he was innocent. But what could he do? What would Richie want anything to do with him now?

A knock at the door and officers walked back in unannounced and uninvited. Myra’s demeanor changed, rubbing Eddie’s scratched cheek. “Oh, my poor dear! He had another asthma attack and he fell on the coffee table! Are you alright my dear Eddie Bear!”

The officers cared little about the situation, instead, they headed right for the closets to grab lifebelts. As they were ordering them to head up to the boat deck, Eddie noticed the curtains tilting.

1990 adult eddie kaspbrak looks like the kind of man to have a couple cats. they’re hypoallergenic and easy to manage. he has many mugs for coffee and tea and likes both equally. all of his tea is caffenated, though. his showers are always pretty long and he takes more showers than necessary sometimes to calm down from stress. he dresses nicely purely for himself, and likes bright colors and patterns in his wardrobe and house. his cat’s names are mr. socks and richie. he doesn’t remember why he likes the name richie for his black cat, just that he thinks it’s an endearing name. he has a cozy and quiet life, and he’s vaguely content with it.
