Stockport-based band Blossoms topped the UK charts with their self-titled debut album last year, featuring the hit single Charlemagne - and with a nomination for Breakthrough Act at the Brits next month, the indie pop darlings have firmly cemented their status as ones-to-watch. Ahead of a massive UK tour this March, Vogue caught up with lead vocalist and guitarist Tom Ogden about his bandmates, guilty pleasures, and undying love for Man City.
Highlights:
What is the most-read book on your book shelf? Collins Concise Dictionary of Quotations.
What's your guiltiest pleasure? Nineties and Noughties R&B.
What’s the most treasured item in your wardrobe? The key I wear around my neck. Joe, our drummer, and I both wear them. He was given them by his mum.
What three films could you watch over and over again? Vertigo, Goodfellas, and The Wedding Singer.
Tell us your favourite quote of all time. "Talent borrows, genius steals!" – Oscar Wilde
What song or album could be the soundtrack to your life and why? God Only Knows by The Beach Boys. I just love that tune.
What are the three things that you would save from your house in a fire? I would carry my mum, dad and brother in one arm, my acoustic guitar in the other, and my keyboard on my head. If you could invite four people – living or dead – to dinner, who would they be and what would you serve? I would make spag bol for Ricky Gervais, Karl Pilkington and my bandmates Joe and Myles.
