Good afternoon So Pas......here's a "Way back Wednesday"......this is "Mom and Apple Pie" 1985......this was a great float and a first in robotics for us....Mom would take a pie out of her oven and place it on the window sill to cool....as she brought the pie to the window, all the kids and animals would come out of their tree house "looking" for the pie......"mom" was a very simple character with multiple movements, and she had to keep the pie level while turning and extending her arms....this was a technology we had never worked with before....we had to program a extremely rudimentary computer to control the hydraulics.....its was said that if the "Mom" suffered a glitch in programming, she could have torn the float down around her....we went on to use her frame and mechanics for 3 future floats.....This was another one of Dexter Ragatz's designs.....the kids and animals were inspired by his 2 children and his dog (his dog made it onto many of our floats)....I believe this was built at the El Centro Elementry School on the playground of the k-2nd grade Next month is our Annual Cruz'n for Roses Classic Car Show on Sept 15th....please go to www.sptor.org for more info..... #sptor #victoryatlast #roseparade #tournamentofroses #19thamendment100thanniversary #classiccars (at South Pasadena, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1KFs1XBNIM/?igshid=1xim2lxlw0z81
