Another big load of food today for all the homeless dogs and cats of California! We are really trying to get so much done and accomplished so many things but it is definitely tough. I am still looking around for a storage container that can be donated but realistically we are going to have to come up with a $2500 to buy one. A lot as happened in the last couple of days and it has been an emotional roller coaster. We do really need any extra love and donations right now to help out with all the medical problems. We have a few sick dogs that are in need of care and I am always honest shoestring budget. If you can help out in anyway we would appreciate it most greatly. The yorky needs help, and the 2 puppy Tinker Bell and Peter Pan are very ill and I are at the vets right now being treated. It is just hurting my heart so much especially since last year this time I was going through so much emotional stuff with the loss of my dog and traumas with Allison and her mother. Sometimes I wish I just had a shoulder to lean on. Meet Our precious Rocky, aka Almond, that we first noticed in that red sleigh online and just had to have him! So the next day, December 18, 2014, we made the long ride up and were so blessed with this bundle of joy and love. We put him in the drum/plant pot when we got home under the Christmas tree and he was officially my Christmas present! He was about 5 lbs, so tiny, a ball of fluff, still is if not groomed. We have a family tradition of naming our rescues after the cities they come from, so he became Rocklin Moses, Rocky for short. There's also Phoenix BBQ, as he was found under a BBQ in Phoenix, and our daughter's newest, Buster Nashville (Nash for short) found wandering the mean streets of Nashville with Mom and Sis. Didn't have to travel so far for our Rocky, being from Santa Cruz area. He has brought my husband and I so much joy and love at this time in our lives, it's as if he was a gift from God sent to us just at the right moment in time. Rocky's loves spending time at the beach, and playing with the other dogs 3-4 days a week. There is nothing we wouldn't do for him. Last year, his 3rd year, was a very hard year for him, he suddenly developed epilepsy and then shortly thereafter needed emergency spinal surgery for temporary paralysis due to ruptured discs. (Vet said common in smaller dogs, Cavapoo 20 lbs). Six months later he is doing fantastic, he still can't jump, and may never, but we are grateful for the recovery he has made and he is very happy. Best news is after finding the right medication, and it's low dose, as I was so against any drugging him, he has not had a seizure in 3 months after having them every 21 days for 6 months! We can't thank you enough Justin and 1lovedogrescue. We are just so grateful for all the happiness, but mostly all the love that he smothers us with that we could never replace, no amount of money could buy that!
