With hurried steps, Sabrina descended the stairs, only to find a strange shallow looking man sitting at the dining table.
"Uhm. Hilda? Zelda? Who's this?" she called out, earning a sour look from the man in black robes, sipping a glass of orange juice.
Zelda popped in her head from the other room, fixing her glasses.
"It's just our cousin, he'll be visiting for a while, he had an accident."
Hidden behind a curtain of black lanky hair was a bandage around his neck.
"Hey, I'm Sabrina", the young witch said and reached out to shake the man's hand.
He sneered and didn't take it, instead he reached for a knife to cut up the sunny side up egg on the plate in front of him. He must have been around 40, but Sabrina knew by now that you couldn’t really tell someone’s age by just looking at them. After all, both her aunts was very much older than they looked.
"Severus", the man finally said in a hoarse voice.
"Are your neck okay there?" she asked, grabbing a piece of toast from a serving plate on the table, checking for the school bus from the big kitchen window.
"Don't bother him, he has sustained a very serious injury", Zelda scolded as she came out from the aligning room.
"From a snake!" Hilda added cheerfully, as she entered the room.
Severus just looked even more sullen at this.
Meanwhile, a black cat hurried inside as Hilda went to the fridge and started opening a can of tuna.
"Finally", the cat said as Hilda put the tuna in a bowl and put it in front of the cat.
"Here you go", she said cheerfully, patting her cousin as she exited the room again to go grab her coat, earning her a very sour look that she didn’t seem to notice.
"Remberer to be careful of your voice, Severus", Zelda advised as she grabbed her handbag. "I'll see you later, Salem will keep you company while we're gone."
Severus dark eyes hadn't left the cat since its entrance. His forehead was wrinkled in confusion before they widened as he recognized the magical signature the cat emitted.
"Grindelwald?" he croaked in disbelief.
The cat, seemingly busy with the bowl of tuna, looked up with mild surprise.
"Always a pleasure to meet a fan", Gellert Grindelwald grinned.
