My nutritionist is fired!
Thinking about it after the fact I believe the issue was eating too far before my game and not enough.
I felt alright to start things off. The refs were late which sucks and puts me off my rhythm but I did okay at first anyway. We scored a goal before I let in a pathetic easy one that I thought I had covered after two of my defencemen screened me and then were somehow not able to get to the loose puck first after I made the first save.
We scored to take the lead again but then I started to really fall apart and we were down 2-4 after the first period with some really weak goals against.
The second was a little bit better, only a couple goals against us with nothing the other way. One of those was actually a really good shot at least.
I can’t really remember all of the goals I let in during the last period as that was when I started to feel really bad. It felt a bit like a migraine at first but then more like I was motion-sick and sort of wanted to vomit. I managed to get through the game somehow, though I don’t think it was a very good performance and the final score was 2-10.
I took a long time changing out of my gear, my hands were kind of shaky and it felt like it was hard to breath, which is common for me when I’m not feeling well. I took my time driving home and laid down and rested for a while before I got some food to eat and was mostly feeling fine by the time I went to bed.
This morning I feel alright, except way more hungry than usual and upset about stupid Benny Franklin’s stupid time change. I might need to find something to make to actually have a real breakfast.
I really hope it was just an issue of not eating right and nothing like that happens again because it was not really all that much fun.
