520 CFM – 160 MPH
The Ryobi 2 Cycle Jet Fan Blower is a new innovation for Ryobi that uses some of the same engineering as their battery operated jet fan blowers. The 25cc 2-cycle gas engine and jet fan produce 520 CFM at 160 MPH. To get this amount of air movement, the blower features an innovative 3-stage jet fan design. As with most blowers, you have a variable speed trigger, but you also have cruise control. The Cruise lever allows you to set the engine rpm for the perfect amount of air movement and the machine will run at that setting without you touching the trigger. This also allows this unit to be used for drying outside areas. The Ryobi RY25AXB blower also has an anti-vibe handle with overmolded grips that help the use hang on to the unit without fatigue.
Like many of the other Ryobi gas engines that we have tested, this on also starts easily and has full instructions to start the unit listed on the air filter. With any small engine, Ryobi limits the user to E10 fuel, but we recommend that you purchase the fuel pre-mixed with oil in small cans from the store. The fuel from the store is ethanol free and treated for storage. Long term, there will be less problems with that fuel along with less change of a carburetor issue.

It’s Worth Every Penny
The Ryobi 25cc Jet Fan blower is priced at $129.00, our first thought was what a deal. While battery operated units seem to be taking over this market, this 2-cycle unit is a clean burning engine that is rated at 72 decibels. There is no risk of a battery going dead and leaving you to spend big money on a new battery. As long as you take care to use good fuel, this unit should be trouble free for a long time! With proper maintenance, this unit could last you the rest of your life and the only cost to running it would be the gas and oil.
One of the big items that stands out to me on this gas unit is that there are no hot spots when the unit is running. By hot spots, we mean we could hand this blower over to our kids without any instruction as to where the exhaust is or anything that could burn them. That is a big deal, especially when working with dry leaves. The air intake for the blower is the rear of the machine. Inside that intake is the engine, so all cooling of the motor is done by the air flowing through the blower. Second, the exhaust gases also flow out the blower. This allows a right or left handed person to use the blower without chance of the exhaust blowing on their leg.
While this is not a new innovation, cruise control is not found on every blower and it is nice to see Ryobi put it on this jet fan blower. This unit can be set to run at a specific air output without having to pull the trigger. For long term use, this can be more comfortable. The unit is incredibly balanced, and the trigger is easy to use, but the cruise could help people who want to use the included shoulder strap. The cruise control can also be used to help dry items outside, like your deck or chairs. Since the exhaust runs out the blower, there is little hint, other than noise, that this unit does exhaust dangerous gasses if used indoors.
Overall, there was not a single disappointment to the new Ryobi 25cc Jet fan blower. The power is significant and most home owners will find that this unit has more power than they really need. The blower is quiet and offers features normally found in more expensive blowers. It does carry a 3 year warranty and is available at the Home Depot.
