I'm about to start highschool and no one's giving me actual advice, pls help me out

Ur-Older-Brother's official guide to surviving the trenches that is highschool.

Physical Tips:

Do your damn hair: Hair is honestly a major factor in how people perceive others. Bad hair days happen, sure, but make sure you tend to it most days

Don’t smell like shit: Guys, I know this should be knowledge, but you’d be surprised how common it is. Always carry some deodorant with you. It’s a lifesaver.

Throw the hentai hoodie in the trash: And the skibidi toilet one. I beseech you. Kids are cruel, and I am crueler.

Backpack: Get a good backpack. It might be a little more expensive, but it’s worth it. Especially if it has a lot of pockets.

Social Tips

Always carry extra supplies with you: pens, pencils, hell, even band-aids and hair ties. Do NOT be that person who’s unprepared (Coming from a person who was always asking the teachers for pencils)

Maddy, my best friend and hair stylist, would like me to remind you to pick up the fucking pace and not be a slow walker. She hates that shit.

I know you are all a bunch of chickens, but try to make one (1) acquaintance in each class. Seven acquaintances at most, five at least. This means 15-21 acquaintances (and potential friends) each school year. It’s gonna help with your energy and motivation when going to school.

Also, join a club if you aren’t in one. It makes high school 110% easier if you have a little club to look forward (your older brother is in three). You don’t have to stay in it year after year, but it’s nice to be there.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TIPS:

Pretend you're Ferris Bueller. Or Rodrick Heffley. Or Han Solo. When I was a young boy, I was not taken to see a parade. I was often pushed in hallways in middle school. Luckily, through therapy and getting the wind knocked out of me, I toughened up. (I was also severely ill and that does shit to your mind, let me tell you). One thing that helped was pretending I was Ferris Bueller. He was cool as dammit and gave zero shits. At first, it was awkward and strained. But eventually, I began to live in the moment, question authority, and laugh more often. So, find your deity and walk those halls as if you own the place.

It’s not that big of a deal: Guys, I promise the drama you’re having doesn’t matter.

I know you’re all gonna ignore this, but please don’t wait for the last minute to do it. That shit will wreak havoc on your mental health (I would know)

TL;DR: Don’t sweat it. It’s not the end of the world if you say something embarrassing or wear an odd outfit. Your high school situationship won’t last forever. And ur-(internet)-older-brother is always here when you need him.

This was my bedroom when I was 15. Notethe old Cd player on my dresser, the American Girl orange lamp behind it, the BBW and Avon stuff on the shelves, LL Bean bookbag on the floor (I got that in like 1998), Patrick stuffed animal. I also have a cool Rush glass picture thing above my bed and a Spongebob rotating lamp above the body care stuff.

Summer 2007, burning my ex's shit. I had just graduated and found out he was cheating on me (while he was living with me and my parents most of my senior year), so my two cousins on the left and my BFF in the maroon (I'm wearing the Famous Stars and Straps shirt) burnt his shit. I wish I could find this FSS shirt for sale, I can't find anything like it. I had it in white, too. I think my ex roommate or my ex friend stole them. If anyone sees this and you remember this brand, please let me know because no one I know in real life remembers it.
