"You feel sorry for me because you think you're better than me. It's okay, everyone does. Doesn't mean it's true, though."
-Carrie 2002
Is there anything gayer than Susan D Snell lying to the police on behalf of Carrietta N White circa Carrie (2002)? I think not.
It's been a while since I've done any realism, so here's Carrie White in shades of pink! I love her more than anything, and despite what critics say, I adore the 2002 movie!
shout out to 2002!Carrie's drawing skills. sad repressed girls are always the best artists and Carrie (2002) understood the assignment
I accidentally have become a 2002 Carrie defender, but I feel like despite it's flaws there are things about it that make it good and unique against the other ones.
Yes!! As you should. 2002 is my favorite version, and it's certainly the most unique. Even while being the most accurate adaptation, it has it's own spin that sets it apart a little bit even from the novel. If I'm being honest, I don't think there is too many flaws besides the bad CGI and weird filters. I also think the casting for Billy is like... bad... but I like the rest of the cast. Some people say it has bad acting, but I didn't think so.
I also think Angela Bettis really understood the character. Her version of Carrie had a bit of bite to her, something she had in the book but lacks in 1976 and 2013. You can really feel that rage bubbling just below the surface for the entirety of the movie. I also think her interactions with Margaret are the most accurate to the book. In the novel she's afraid of her mama, but is equally as exasperated with her nonsense. You can tell in 2013 that Carrie is kind of the adult of the house, what with Margaret being so ill in the head. That's one of the things I really liked about Carrie (2013) as it makes her all the more tragic. So the fact that 2002 is kind of the middle ground between that and the novel interactions is really cool to me.
I think people need to have more of an open mind when watching 2002. They should keep in mind that it was a TV budget and was a product of its time. If they can overlook those flaws, they'll find a pretty good story.
I love 2002! Tina and Kenny. EVIL bimbo and himbo couple.
I like that Kenny got DECKED
