Posted on 11th February, 2026 (GMT 18:08 hrs) ABSTRACT The review examines the “unpublished” (?) book Four Stars of Destiny: An Autobiography by General M.M. Naravane (retd.), former Chief of the Indian Army (2019–2022), in comparative dialogue with three major critical interventions on contemporary Indian state power: the BBC documentary India: The Modi Question, Rakesh Sharma’s Final Solution…
#Mahatma Gandhi : If nobody knew Gandhi before the film absolutely nobody knew narendra modi before the Gujarat riots – Mahua Moitra , Trinamool Congress Leader
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on Mahatma Gandhi that world knew of him only after a film has received backlash from opposition leaders .
Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra in sharp retort on X wrote , If nobody knew Gandhi before the film absolutely nobody knew @narendramodi before the Gujarat riots.
Earlier , Prime Minister Narendra Modi sparked a controversy with his remark that “the world did not know of Mahatma Gandhi till the film ‘Gandhi’ was made”.
During an interview to a TV channel, Modi had said, “…Across the world, Mahatma Gandhi was a great person. Was it not our responsibility in these 75 years to ensure that the entire world knows Mahatma Gandhi. I am sorry to say that no one knows about him. The first time when the film ‘Gandhi’ was made, it was then that there was curiosity across the world as to who this person was. We have not done so… .”
“It was the task of this country to ensure that if the world knows about Martin Luther King, South Africa’s Nelson Mandela ji, then Gandhi was no less. One has to agree and I am saying this after travelling across the world that India should have got that importance due to Mahatma Gandhi.”
Reality Check : L K Advani Saved Narendra Modi As Chief Minister Of Gujarat In 2002 ; Vajpayee Reminded Modi Of Raj Dharma Says Jairam Ramesh Kumar
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has alleged that BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani had saved Narendra Modi’s Gujarat CM chair in 2002.
He made the claim before reporters at Mohanpur in Jharkhand’s Deoghar on the sidelines of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the name of Advani for Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award.
Replying to a query on the conferring of Bharat Ratna on Advani, Ramesh said, “In 2002, Advani ji had saved Narendra Modi. The then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had reminded Modi lesson of ‘Raj Dharma’ and wanted to remove him from the post of CM. However, only one person saved him and that was Advani (at a BJP meeting) in Goa.”
