unmasked photos + gif of Jeff unmasking himself . most of these are in - the - ring shots aside from one photo ( fourth row , middle image ) which was likely either before / after the event , as it shows him wearing some pieces he worse for the shoot interviews he had both before and afterwards . i assume the photo was taken after the match was over ?

from another DVD of mine ( i can’t remember exactly which one . . . may have been “ Jeff Hardy my life my rules “ ) where Jeff is talking of general info about Willow + some old clips of him as Willow are shown .
again , would like to point out how he feels confident in his own skin and like he can do anything when he ’ s portraying this Gimmick .

hi!! recently i've come to ADORE willow as a character, but i don't know that much about his lore. could you tell me about what's currently known and maybe recommend me some good matches??
SO SORRY IM LATE TO THIS my inbox on here can be glitchy sometimes because this is my sideblog , not my main blog , but oh man i ' m not sure how well i could sum up Willow 's lore for a few reasons :
1 . ) he changes SO MUCH over the years . 2 . ) i tend to interpret things a lotttt differently than most people , and Willow ' s storylines / lore is very interpretive and vague at parts 3 . ) i have written or discussed a LOT of things about Willow , and i ' m scared i may mix that up with the facts because my memory is garbage oops
due to that , i reealllyyy urge you to try and find things out about him online . . . HOWEVER ! I CAN TELL YOU MY INTERPRETATIONS ( with minimal headcanons as long as i can handle holding back ) ! !

i know Willow existed during the TWF ( teen wrestling federation ) that Matt and Jeff had started - i don ' t know any lore about him back then .
Jeff carried the persona into OMEGA ( organization of modern extreme grappling arts ) that he and Matt also started . based on some promos he cut back then , it ' s easy to assume that this version of Willow was born out of jealousy . in one promo , he expresses a concern that he ' s being overlooked in favor of Matt , and that he was jealous of the bond that Matt and Jeff had with each other . he wanted what they had - a strong bond like and love from the fans . i personally also think this Willow was born out of Jeff ' s desire to express himself , but being unable to for various reasons . Willow gave him an outlet to express himself physically and mentally to get his thoughts out for the world to see , while also being hidden behind a mask for most of it . 1990s / OMEGA Willow was a lotttt more eccentric than any following versions of him , and i think it was a lot more experimental for Jeff , as if he was testing the waters to see how he felt expressing himself like that .
2003 Willow is . . . well , there was only one match ( not counting any practice matches leading up to it ) . not much i can say here without throwing in some headcanons , but i personally think he was made out of spite and anger . Jeff was recently fired from WWE earlier that year , and this was his way of reappearing in ROH as Willow . some of the crowd loved it - a LOT of the crowd hated it . Jeff isn ' t even really " Willow " for the whole match ! he unmasks himself halfway through , and i see that as him tucking the persona away for the moment , hoping to be loved by the crowd again as he takes off more and more of his gear that ' s attached to Willow . i have a few clips of him reflecting on that 2003 match , and he speaks back on them in a tone that i can ' t really describe . he says he screamed and had an angry outburst at someone in the crowd / backstage after the match , and then went and cried for a few different reasons regarding that return in general .
after that , Willow isn ' t really seen in any major promotions like that until 2014 - the TNA return . if i ' m being honest , i don ' t know a lot about this Willow . until recently i had watched only snippets of his matches from then online , and they were all in horrible quality and rarely the full match ( however , thanks to a lovely mutual of mine , i now have access to a lot of his TNA matches in watchable quality . . . FOREVER GRATEFUL ! ! YOU KNOW WHO YOU AREEEE THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH ! ! ! ! ! ! ) , so i am planning on learning more about that before the Jeff brings him back again . this Willow , to me , is a lot more violent , and sort of a mix of Jeff / Brother Nero instead of a being that Jeff tries to suppress and keep separate from himself like how he seemed to do back in the 90s . not much to say about this one :( 1990s Willow is my absolute favorite , i spend most of my time analyzing what i have of him instead of other versions .

as for some matches you may like , unfortunately a lot of my favorites are ones i have on my DVDs , so i can ' t share them unless i set up a MEGA account or share my drive file ( i am not willing to share that whole drive file unless it ' s with close personal friends of mine or with the guy who gave me the 2014 Willow footage - sorry ) , but here are some online that i like ! ^_^ both matches and some promos

id just like to point out that he makes a point near the end to say that he feels like a totally different person with the Willow mask , and that he feels almost supernatural with it on . that ’ s very important to me honestly . . . i ’ ve always interpreted Jeff ’ s alter egos ( although they ’ re more well known , i ’ m specifically referring to Willow the Wisp and Itchweeed here ) as his way of coping with behavior he sees in himself . i ’ ve noticed he over-exaggerates his OWN behavior and puts them into these personas . just a thought . . .
