So last year some friends and I decided to take on a challenge we read about somewhere (probably here) in which you had to fill a jar with notes about every happy moment you lived throughout the whole year, so at the end of the year you could go through your notes and sort of re-live your happy moments or whatever.
Of course I had completely forgotten about it cause I suck, and I stopped adding new notes around last May, so I only have 14 notes.
Anyway I just went through them and I got very emotional because it made me realize a lot of things:
- First of all, the importance that apparently small things can have in someone's life. A lot of my notes are about very trivial things, like a phone call, or something absolutely random, like a smell.
- Second, no matter how sometimes I feel like everything sucks and I don't know what to do with my life and I feel lost and alone, I still managed to find 14 happy moments in 5 months, and that's something. No matter how pessimistic my outlook on life might be, there are quite a few awesome things in my life and I'm very grateful for them.
- Last, but by no means least, 13 notes out of 14* are about (or involve) people. This is something I often tend to overlook, but it's so important. Nothing I do by myself really makes me as happy as I am when I can share it with someone I love.
So thank you, my friends, for sticking around so far and for the happy moments you shared with me. You know who you are. I love you!
* The 14th note was about me getting to vote for both Parliament chambers for the first time, and yeah, that's something you have to do by yourself lol
