2014 MTV Video Music Awards
The 2014 Video Music Awards were hosted at the Forum in Inglewood, California last night. As Gwen Stefani presented the Best Female Video, she accurately pointed out the evening was dominated by A-list female performers. Girl power!
Usher presented a soulful performance for screaming fans.
Beyonce stole the show by pouring her heart out to the audience. It was like nothing I've ever seen before. The performance was spontaneous, raw, storytelling performance art. Jay Z and Blue Ivy came on stage at the end to show that their family is as strong as ever.
When Miley Cyrus won Video of the Year, she surprised the audience by sending a homeless of Hollywood to speak on behalf of runaway and homeless youth.
Common also made a PSA when he asked for a moment of silence as tribute to the injustice that took place in Ferguson this year.
Overall, the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, was a cultural musical spectacle with a crap load of super famous people that had screaming fans lined up around the venue. Crazy die-hards were dedicated to getting glimpses into the black SUVs that held the artists who created the soundtrack to our year, while we were lucky enough to be on the inside up close and personal.
