Ooooooh tell me about this hostage situation!
(Ask me about my current fics!)
Thanks for the ask, anon!!
Firstly, I don’t know if you know about the bingo yet, but this fic is a prompt fill for the @badthingshappenbingo (which means it’s going to be whumpy!), and it takes place in the My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) fandom. If you are interested in writing whump, angst, or hurt/comfort, I totally recommend checking out the event’s blog!
Secondly, it’s Todoroki-centric (to be clear, I mean Shoto Todoroki), gen, and Midoriya and either Iida or Bakugou (haven’t decided yet) are going to play supporting roles. It takes a look at Endeavor’s (rough) relationship with his son as of S2, and basically operates on the idea of, “If Endeavor had to choose between his role as a father and his role as a hero, which would he choose?”
“If Endeavor had to choose between saving the fourth-most-populated city in Japan or saving his prized son, which would he choose?”
(Minor spoilers for Season Two ahead!)
It goes something like this:
The news spreads like wildfire. Stain, the infamous Hero Killer, was finally brought to justice by the hands of Endeavor, the Number Two Hero.
At UA, Endeavor’s fame trickles down to his quiet son, Shoto Todoroki. Whatever his father does has repercussions, whether good or bad. This time is no different.
To avoid the inevitable attention from his peers, Todoroki volunteers to stay and work late at UA. He likes walking home alone, anyway. The night is peaceful.
Well… usually.
The next morning, Stain’s defeat is old news, and a new headline is catching everyone’s eye:
“NUMBER TWO HERO’S SON: HOSTAGE”
And its subtitle,
“THE RANSOM: NAGOYA CITY”
~
Thank you again for the ask!
