Changes Coming to the Blog in 2021

So I know I have been talking about changes coming to the blog in 2021.  And now is the time for revealing what is going to happened. YAY!  New fun things!!

New Posting Schedule

So yep, the posting schedule is changing.  I am dropping to one guaranteed story/chapter a week.  That doesn’t mean I am not going to slip in bonus stories, I just need the relief from the pressure of putting out two stories a week.  It was a lot in 2020.  Here is the revised schedule:

Monday: no planned standing posts. I will likely use this for extra stories or any sort of temporary fun.  

Tuesday: Tip Tuesday.  Yeah never going away.  

Wednesday: New standing post!  WRITER’S SPOTLIGHT WEDNESDAY!  I am moving fic teasers off of Wednesday and making Wednesday my day to spotlight other writers!  I am so excited for this!  Here is the form if you want to nominate yourself or someone else for writer’s spotlight.  All writers welcome!

Thursday: Fic teasers and/or a story.  I am leaving this as a day with options.  Because I like options.

Friday: Weekend Reading.  Yeah also never going away.  Another one of my favorite posts.

Saturday: Story/chapter post.  Yep, this is the day.  The day of the words.  Woot!

Sunday:  nothing planned.

New Request Process

I have struggled with requests and the process in which people put in requests.  I hate only opening them for a hour or two once a month.  People are getting left out and behind.  It is not a fair process and I firmly believe it causes this feeling scarcity where there isn’t any.  So I am going to open up requests on an ongoing basis, with the caveat that I make no promises on when or if I will write a request.  I will post the form for it in 2021.  Same FAQs apply.  Requests sent to me in either my inbox or DMs will be deleted unanswered.  Sounds harsh, sorry!

More Series and Non-requested Fics

This is going to tie into the previous one.  I am looking to shift my focus from one shots to more series and/or involved fics.  I am also looking to write more of my own ideas.  I love requests, they can often be so creative!  But the trade off is that my own ideas are pushed to the back burner.  I want to finish up my submissive Tom series.  I want to write the follow up series for Adam and Charlie.  I want to write a single dad AU Tom.  So expect some different things from me.

Looking towards 2021...

In a previous post I mentioned how so much of what I do ended up getting buried by an insanely large number of trivial but time consuming tasks. In another post, I simply stated how much I’d like to venture back into creative stuff on the regular. Let’s peek behind the curtain a moment and see what this means for next year.

@ask-patient1274 -- I’d like to finally finish the current story arc. Once this is done, the blog would become a simpler Q&A style ask blog, with no overarching story. This would allow for simpler updates based more on what I feel like drawing than what needs to come next.

@777winemaressong -- This blog hit an unusual problem. Several of the assets are damaged, and several more are flat out missing. I haven’t had the time to remake or repair the assets, hence its sudden stop. However, I’ve been reworking the assets lately, and may be able to resume it sometime in the near future. It’ll be a bit different style-wise, but it’ll otherwise be the same as it is now.

Mystery blog #1 -- I’ve been tinkering with the idea of restarting an old blog of mine that was moderately popular. Part of resurrecting it depended on getting my custom drawing program up to snuff, and now that it’s nearly ready, bringing an old favorite back online is becoming more of a possibility. The bad news is that some of its assets are completely missing or in an unusable condition. That’ll take some time to fix.

Mystery blog #2 -- Long, long ago, back when Ask Pony Blogs were still a new thing, I had started up a small side blog with a slightly unusual topic. It never got much attention, and I eventually closed it down (complete with deleting the account). Lately I’ve been reading some heady non-fiction books, and it’s giving me both ideas and some inspiration to recreate that pony blog. I’m not sure I will, but there’s a little muse nagging me to go for it. Note that the only surviving fragment of this blog was the character’s reference picture and a piece of fanart someone randomly did for it. To recreate it now, I’d have to start from scratch.

2021 Plans

Hello everyone,

I know I have been pretty silent on here for a while now. I just want to let you know that I am doing fine. I have been very fortunate that I have been healthy and hardly affected by the pandemic.

I am working full time now and thus I have been a little short on time working on my writing. I managed to finish a book in 2020 and had been planning to publish it on Amazon kindle two months ago. But life is life and it got in the way.

My plan for 2021 is to write another omegaverse book and have the 2020 book published before the year is over. Those will be/are stand alone works and not related with the work published on my AO3 page, meaning they have no connection to the Flint series.

I hope you are all doing well and stay healthy, overcome the anxiety the pandemic puts many of us under and find happiness and friends in real life and online like I have been lucky enough in the last year.

So, 2021 actual plans, for both writing and drawing, at least the ones I have for now. Drawing first:

One thing I had meant to do but couldn’t because I felt sick, it was a picture that was Christmas related, besides Snom, but I had that done a week before the holidays. If you read this story you might get an idea of what it was. But still it counts.

I have two draw this in your style challenges to do, one ends in a few days and the other the end of this month, and I wanna do them both.

This year though I really want to focus on improving things, last year I looked for a way to start drawing digitally without having to sketch manually first, because I wanted to be less limited, and I could do so. And now I also have a new tablet, with a screen, so I think I can improve even more once I get more used to it.

So now I want to try and do bigger and more complicated things, such as better backgrounds, instead of leaving them blank or just put some random colors. Also because I wish to show more of the world I am creating, for my Pokemon region. I’ll still be drawing the characters too, I haven’t finished drawing my OCs like I said I would mostly because I got sick of doing the same thing, but also because I was using a style I was trying out, and that I felt didn’t stick with me too well, style that I changed in the drawings after and that I feel much more comfortable with, so, my OCs will come again, and drawn even better.

I really care about this project I created with a friend 5 years ago, but that we had sort of abandoned because we didn’t hear from one another as often, he’s very busy, but I took it on my hands last year again, and I mean to give it more life at some point. Even writing wise, because all I did so far has been drawn, the writing phase hasn’t started yet, at least when it comes to the story itself, the planning and setting is pretty much done, I need to finish up the plot, because its very long.

Other than this I mean to try and use less references for posing, because I feel like I am still weak in that regard, and anatomy, so I mean to study that better. I don’t mean to get rid of them completely at the start but to be less dependent from them.

I mean to also try to refrain myself from rushing to the finish, as when a drawing of mine starts to come together I tend to rush to finish and post it, and I want to work on being more patient, because after I post I always notice there’s something I haven’t done well or that could have been corrected, that, if I took my time I could have fixed. I’m a rather weird person, I can never get around starting something, but when I do I can’t stop and even rush to finish.

Writing wise:

Being part of a forum we made, starting last year, a “challenge”, which is essentially take a writing project, new or old doesn’t matter, and work on it and try to finish it during the year. Last year I did with my Pokemon region, and that actually got me doing more stuff than I ever did the previous years, and I’d still work on it in the background. I had gotten distracted from writing Beyond the Reality, which was fine though, as it was the first long fic I wrote and finished in years.

However the main project of this year is yet another Borderlands fic, it will be called Sing to the Moon. I had thought at this when it was around Halloween where I drew the Sirens as wolves and it became an idea for an actual AU.

So yes it will be a sort of supernatural AU with humans and werewolves, things are pretty much set as I already fixed the world and its factions and characters, and the plot is almost done too. It might be in 3 arcs as it loosely follows the plot of the BL games, even though not at all faithfully, otherwise I wouldn’t do an AU.

I won’t post this one until its over though, like for Beyond the Reality, because since I have a story with leaving stories unfinished because I tend to lose interest, I’d rather finish them up first then post regularly, without pressure to post a new chapter every now and then, and also I can guarantee constant updates.

In the meantime I’ll just work on whatever I feel like in that precise moment, with writing I tend to go with the flow of things, letting inspiration hit me when it wants to. Inspiration might be anything, a word, a picture, a song, something a friend talked to me.

I’ll still attempt to do challenges too, both writing and drawing, even though with the second one I might be a bit inconsistent, given my condition, for example I can’t do month long challenges anymore or rather, if I do I have to drag them out because my body doesn’t allow me to force myself to draw every single day, but it doesn’t mean I can’t do anything at all.

Anyways, these are my plans, I hope to be able to keep faith to them, and also that games won’t distract me too much heh. I recently got a bunch of new ones haha. ^_^”

My AU/writing plans for 2021

Continue Recovery in the least offensive way possible because it’s an important topic to explore and I’m attached now (@cr1pt1d If this au is in any way too similar to your new one with Sarah then let me know okay!!)

Write more about Teen!AU, specifically what happened after they were reunited and also how things were on Ava’s side when Sarah stopped responding

Figure out my plans for Restart and start writing the important plot points properly

A project with some other med writers which will be talked about at a later point 🥰

More Murmur now that I’ve reworked it; specifically looking at Vivi’s heart transplant and also the progression of Reesker’s relationship

Oh also September 7th-14th is Congenital heart defect awareness week so I’m gonna be writing Vivi content that week!!

Finish some Recurrence backstory stuff and then get to the main plot which follows adult Ava <3

I definitely wanna get into the cancer stuff in that because... oncology <3

Bloodletting will focus on the progression of Ava and Sarah’s relationship and also involve some Crockett drama and maybe some more April/Noah because their backstories are important and I haven’t touched on them much yet

Chronic and 4 mg Ativan will pop up whenever I’m writing to cope lmao expect those as often as usual because sometimes I get random inspiration when I’m in pain 🥰

Undertow will escalate and I will definitely get to Ava and Sarah meeting for real and also some Nat/April drama maybe <3 also... Nat/April/Robin... thoughts

La Douleur Exquise finally has a solid plot line so I will be writing hopefully mostly chronological pieces for it

Maybe a writing prompt challenge in May? Since it’s my birth month and I finish first year of school in late April; would anyone be down for that?

I wanna write some Robin and Ava for sure, whether it be platonic or romantic I just think they could have been such an interesting pairing

Once I properly watch season 5 I want to explore the AU idea I had where Ava is a ghost stuck in Gaffney and watching the aftermath of her death... maybe (@crockettstiddies if that’s too similar to your ghost au I will drop the idea gsjsk I’ll check in with you if I ever decide to do it for real)

my 2021 alton towers plans!!

with covid still running rampant here in england, it’s looking increasingly unlikely that the park will be opening as planned for the 2021 season on the 20th March. having said that, i also have no money so i really need to start saving up lol!! having said that, here’s what i hope to do this year (in regards to the towers)!!

attend my first scarefest

ride the rides in chronological order (from when they were first added)

ride the smiler for the first time!!

get to ride the wickerman again (it was closed for the entire day the last time i went)

buy merch

so. much. merch

re-ride th13teen again

go through the dungeons

hopefully ride gangsta granny: the ride (if it’s open)

keep an eye out for the secret weapon easter eggs in the queue lines

maybe film my first vlog! 

not get lost in the gardens (it happened once, i ended up by the cbeebies hotel and had to get the monorail back lmao)

2021 handcraft plans

There'll be something I add later, I know it.

Not including writing/editing because those really are ongoing projects (Viva New Vegas and Bad Trip are both huge) and anyway that's a whole separate bag of mice. This is strictly handcrafts. The Outer Worlds journal is pretty close to wrapping up in terms of assembly, at that point it'll be ready for writing in or w/e.
