I drew a previous version of this in 2022 (here) and I remember loving it a whole damn lot at the time. After three years however (which does not seem that long doesn’t it?) looking at it, it felt like my style had changed so much that I had to see how the drawing would look now. Just out of curiosity. And damn, it helps to notice your own improvement like this, doesn’t it?
Like listen, I am not immune to the artist curse of looking at other artists and going “wow I’ll never ever get there”… so it is really useful every once in a while to take a step back, look at my own past stuff and instead go “wow I thought that was the best I could do, but look at what I’m doing now”.
And, to be honest, if you see it that way, the idea of a future becomes a little bit more exciting, doesn’t it?
