Hey, I know! Let's all be purists and shoot ourselves in the foot, like in 2016 when Bernie wasn't the nominee, and we stubborn-voted just enough in just the right states for Jill Stein to throw shit from Clinton to Trump! Nyah-nyah! That showed 'em, didn't it?

Get outta here with that. Nobody's asking you to marry Joe or invite him to your Thanksgiving. The presidency is a job - you don't hire the person you most want to fuck, or be your grandma, for a job, you hire the applicant most suited to do the job as it needs done and make the fewest mistakes. That ain't Orange Felon or Brainworm or Jill Stein. In fact, they're not even close in terms of experience or track record to try taking action on needed reforms.

Also, while Trump doesn't really WANT to be president again, since losing means he can keep running indefinitely and fundraising off bitching and crying to his base, and avoid responsibilities - that doesn't mean if he gets in that he WON'T dismantle and sell off protective institutions to the highest bidders.

Quit Fucking Yourself Over - Vote Blue. (The DNC won't use that motto, but they should.) And vote it downticket too. Remember, it's a lot easier to protest the sitting president's policies when he or she isn't having you shot or rounded up into a gulag for trying to do so.

My heart is hurting so much right now. I’m so nervous

Had an experience yesterday.

In a fit of hysteria/anger, I said some rather hateful things to people who have loved me my whole life. Because they were of the Republican Party.

And I guess my brain in that moment felt they deserved the same kind of hate that me and people like me are going to possibly experience in these coming years. And as many know, what you say can’t be taken back

I still wasn’t doing anything better than them by spreading that hate right back. As yes, I felt betrayed, confused how you could vote for someone who wants to hurt people you love.

But this wasn’t the way to fix it. And I did apologize, we spoke it out. And it left me with food for thought.

I don’t want to bite at people I care for.

So how do all of you find a way to cope with those who voted for someone so awful, but you still love them?

Asking on both sides, as I know there are others who felt this way for those who went blue too.
