Some nice Charles stuff ahead of the 2025 Chinese GP (something to make me/us smile a bit):

I saw this post again and want to give additional info. 😸

Charles name is written 夏尔·勒克莱尔（Xiàěr Lèkèlái'ěr) in Chinese, close to how it is pronounced in French.

He has several Chinese nicknames, as the post says + adding some:

乐扣 (Lèkòu) - most commonly used, from the 'Lerc' part. Sounds like 'Leco'. If you search Chinese SNS and video sites, this is how Chinese Charles fans usually call him.

乐 (Lè) usually means (1) joyful, (2) happiness. Can also mean (3) to smile/laugh or (4) to enjoy/love.

扣 (kòu) means (1) to strike, (2) to restrain, (3) to fasten, or (4) button.

If you combine 乐(Lè)+扣(Kòu), it can mean joyful strike or happy button, etc.

Some call him 乐乐 (LèLè) or 扣扣 (KòuKòu) - both from 乐扣 (Lèkòu).

Some also jokingly call him CoCo after international fans discovered LèLè and KòuKòu (the international fan typed it as Coco) and found the nicknames sweet. There's a popular milktea brand in Asia named CoCo so the Chinese fan said from a button (KòuKòu) he became a milktea (CoCo). 🧋

Because of that milktea joke, a fan commented Charles or someone should open a store and call it LèLèCha. 'Cha' is from 'Charles' and Cha(茶) also means tea 🍵 in Chinese and multiple Asian languages so it fits for a milktea store. Also, that fan commented to get Hello Kitty as a collab because CoCo 🧋 does collabs with Sanrio characters. And Hello Kitty fits because LèLèCha sounds like 'le chat' (the cat) in French. So many wordplays happened here, sorry! 😅

Also, Charles' arrival on Shanghai last Monday was trending on Chinese SNS.
