Short-lived – similar to Ackermann’s Berluti – but important for a reestablishment of American tailoring. The form of which has been rooted in English and Italian principles, but the archetypes of which were birthed on wall street and New York City’s booming corporate culture. 

Simons’ outsider view of America and Americana focused on the ugly, the overlooked. Horror was a consistent trope – a national fixation on killers, accidents, gore, cults, and the like. Then The Graduate, a sort of collegiate Ivy League fixation – perhaps a social sorting similar to Oxbridge. But most importantly, giving contemporary form to the Wall Street Banker suit – double breasted worn open with a sheer, skin tight sheath or bare under. Office sexy. Corporate chic.
