I was watching 20s21ep and I found out that Sonny's auntie (on his mother's side) is from Ischia and she moved 60 years ago. Her sugo alla marinara is amazing and she gets the tomatoes for the sauce directly from Naples! He also said that she always tells him how beautiful Ischia is and Sonny said that he misses Italy. He also wants to talk to the victim (an Italian girl) to brush up his Italian!! Why have I never read anything like this about this hellsite? Now my headcanons have changed a bit.

Sonny and his sisters spent the summer at their grandparents house in Italy when they were kids.

His relatives took them to visit the most important cities in Italy and their attractions.

When his sisters decided that they were too old for this summer vacation, Sonny continued to go alone until his acceptance in college.

Until he spent his summer in Italy, Sonny's Italian was good enough, however he's now less fluent even though he is always in contact with cousins and relatives.

He misses Italy and he can't wait to come back (maybe with his loved one!), but now he only can dream about it because it's too busy with work.

Every time he eats his auntie's sugo alla marinara, he remembers those summers full of laughs, sun and food.
