After listening to Nightwish’s new album, my verdict is that it’s alright. The Human album feels a little rushed and less cohesive than previous metal NW works. The Nature side “All The Works of Nature which Adorn the World”  feels like an orchestral soundtrack to a movie that isn’t there. The whole album isn’t bad but the two sides feel disjointed, like they were not designed to be listened to in conjunction with one another.

Put simply, the album isn’t bad but nor is it great. The double album idea is a great one but usually there is an overarching theme or connection between the 2 halves, Human. :||: Nature. lacks that. Overall, it seems like Nightwish had ideas for 2 separate albums, neither of which were fleshed out enough so they slapped the two together and called it a double album.
