“Hibernation” Second week of #21DaysLockdownSA was blissfully spent adopting a new cycle centred around efficient sleeping. It was also quite an adjustment as I flipped the routine around: Sleep the day away + wake in the evening + work at night till sunrise. The shift reinforced the idea of social distancing and staying indoors during this lockdown as I was asleep while everyone was awake and awake while you were all asleep. . . . Routine is important, it realigns your sense of normality and if structured with appropriate tasks, can be an uplifting experience during this downtime of positive external reinforcements. Honestly engaging with self also gives you the opportunity to further build on self-confidence, self-awareness and self-love. . . . How are you making the most of the #lockdown? . . . “Lodge with Leopards” I dream a little dream during this #21DaysLockdownSA to visit a land not far that is destined to rejuvenate my spiritual core. That land is the Eastern Cape Province and my destination is the newly opened @ShamwariPrivateGameReserve, Sindile Luxury Tented Camp. . . . Sindile, isiXhosa for ‘survivor’, is compassionately named after the celebrated leopardess that survived numerous maulings by lions to raise her five litters of cubs which now comprise of Shamwari’s leopard population today. The camp consists of free-standing tents that are elevated above the bush, allowing uninhibited views, unsullied by any man-made structures. “Reflect & Deflect” 1 week done and dusted of #21DaysLockdownSA. Having spent most of it getting in extra sleep, meditating and listening to my body, it’s been a wonderfully reflective time, giving me an opportunity to learn to deflect thoughts and words that bring about negativity into my life. . . . Remember: It’s okay to spend your time doing nothing and it’s also okay to learn a new skill during this time.
