THE GIRL IN TAILS (1926)
The Girl in Tails (Swedish: Flickan i frack) is a 1926 Swedish silent comedy drama film directed by Karin Swanström, one of Sweden's first female directors at the time. It stars Einar Axelsson, Magda Holm and Nils Aréhn. It was based on the 1925 novel Flickan i frack by Hjalmar Bergman.
The story is set in Wadkoping around the celebration of a high school graduation. Katja is upset with the way she is treated as a girl; she likens it to second-class treatment. So she decides to attend a graduation ceremony in her brother's tuxedo.
Karin Swanström’s Flickan i frack, based on Hjalmar Bergman’s novel, is a witty and subversive comedy-drama about gender, class, and convention in the small town of Wadköping. When the spirited student Katja Kock arrives at the graduation ball dressed in her brother’s tuxedo, she scandalizes polite society and provokes the wrath of Wadköping’s formidable matriarch, played by Swanström herself. What follows is a spirited tale of defiance, independence, and young love that challenges the rigid norms of its day. With its feminist edge and satirical bite, Flickan i frack remains one of the most remarkable Swedish films of the 1920s.

Of course he's right. Not much point in living with all these moaning spooks just to spite some guy you don't give a shit about. But how to go about it? Can't control her. It can be difficult to manipulate the mind of the psychically gifted.
Not only does Vriska struggle with strong-willed trolls, she also has problems manipulating her fellow psionics.
Tavros doesn't seem to be an issue, so maybe his powers are more run-of-the-mill than Aradia’s - or maybe he’s just so weak-willed that his psionics alone can’t save him.
How about this guy? Unfortunately, you can only control him about half the time.
Aw, fuck. That’s pretty much the worst person she could have control over - but if Sollux isn’t psychically gifted, who is?
Maybe the strength of his psionics fluctuate with his mood. It would be very on-brand if he was only overpowered every second day.
AG: I've got a message for you from your 8oyfriend. AG: He's outside your hive right now!
Oh my god, are you serious?
This is the cruelest way you could possibly confirm a ship!
FUCK!

Honestly, this is worse than Tavros.
Whitetext may have been pulling the strings, but using Sollux as the murder weapon was Vriska’s idea. She even took the time to ‘warn’ Aradia, relinquishing the element of surprise, just so she could twist the knife a little. Vriska wanted this to hurt.
Sollux doesn’t even know! He watched Aradia turn into a shell of herself, without ever knowing that he was the last thing she ever saw. It was kind, I think, for Aradia not to tell him - and Vriska’s reasons for keeping quiet were her own.
I think we can call it. My theory that Vriska’s control is limited - that she can only make people do what they already wanted to do - is as dead as poor Aradia. Vriska can make people do whatever she wants.
Show me the new enemy.
I just want to talk.
Seasonal
In summer, Ice cream melts before it has a chance to live. It is taken in its prime, Unable to enjoy the fruits of its labour As it drips down the hand holding its cone.
In winter, Ice cream survives longer. It can savour its existence And remain who it wishes to be. It is eaten all the same.
