These are all pictures of my Grandfather. The large picture is the only one I'm familiar with or as I knew him. He was my Kung Kung. My Mum's Father. He knew every dialect there was to speak but he originally only spoke in Hokkien. He self taught himself to speak the other dialects but the first one was Cantonese. This was so he could speak to my Grandmother, since they were to marry, to survive WWII. It's been 25 years since he passed on this day in 1992. Mum and I flew into Singapore and went straight to the hospital where he was being cared for. We managed to see him just in time before visiting hours finished. We traveled back to Tampines to my Auntie Kim Hong's apartment to rest as well. The phone rang at 2am and I knew something was not right. He had passed away but we managed to see him just before he was to pass away, later that night. If you don't know your Grandparents, go and get to know them. They have such a rich history and your should make time, so they can share it with you. You'll appreciate it, trust me. Don't leave it for tmrw, what you can do today. #riptanweegee #25years #22sep1992 #kungkung #weallmissyou
