Steadfast Heart of Gold || Ethan & Looker
Ding. "Attention passengers: We are now entering the Johto Region. Estimated arrival time to Goldenrod City is approximately 43 minutes."
Looker sighed, and let his eyes gaze shift to the window-- 43 minutes? How fast was this train? Regardless, he watched as the trees close by passed with such breakneck speed, while the mountains far behind moved at a slower pace.
The entire situation before him still seemed odd, however. DJ Mary had called upon the officer (or, more accurately, his higher up officials) to help discuss a segment on criminal activity in the other regions, as well as the anniversary of Team Rocket's infamous "Tower Takeover". Sure, he could see where he'd fit into that-- but that ladder made absolutely no sense. The only run-in Looker had with Team Rocket was back on the S.S. Anne in Kanto years ago, and that sting was nothing more then a complete bust. To the elder male, the "Tower Takeover" here in Johto was nothing more then a mere name in the newspaper for him.
The doors swung open to reveal a warm, sunny day in the bustling city. Chit chat wavered in the air, and people walked along the streets, their Pokemon in tow. His platinum eyes scanned the skyline for his next destination. "A radio tower... where-- oh?"
There it stood, glistening in the harsh sunlight above. It didn't take long to maneuver his way towards the large metallic building, and upon entering, Looker found himself in a simple yet large waiting room with a slight bustle of workers and visitors. Before he could realize it, a young woman behind the counter nearby called out with an, "May I help you, sir?"
Looker walked over and began, his accent coating each word with slight complexity, "Yes. I have arrived upon the request of the Disk Jockey, Mary."
Upon a quick exchange of confirmation, the woman shook her head, "I'm sorry, unfortunate circumstances have caused for a change of plans in DJ Mary's radio show this week. Your appearance is slated for... It looks like next week, at the latest."
Oh, fantastic. "...No no, there is but a mistake," Looker inferred, "I am to appear today--this day--for I am to return to my work after such events!" The woman was persistent, however, and asked if anyone had informed him about the change... which, of course, no one had. After grave disappointment, Looker took a seat in a nearby chair and reached for his communicator before hearing a sudden excitement burst though the door and rush over towards the counter.
Looker glanced up, seeing a young man--no older then his teens, mind you-- carry on about some lucky numbers, or something about that. The ends of his floppy, black hair bouncing excitedly before he finally simmering down into a slump of disappointment. By now, the younger male began to ramble on about his loss, complaining as if his life depended on the stupid numbers. Already aggravated enough, the officer spoke up, "Young man, relax. It is merely a game."
