Happy Birthday Jeff Gordon!! (As most of you know him, Jeff Gorvette..)

It was an honor to root for you all my life until you retired in 2015.

In 2014, I finally got to meet you, after 7 years of trying to. You may not have been able to stay long, after all, it was after a long day of testing, but I still treasure the hat you signed for me after all these years.

In 2014, I saw you race in person for the first time, you may have finished 2nd, but that 2nd was to Dale Earnhardt Jr, who is retiring after this year, and after having met him earlier that year as well, and then seeing him win, is very special.

In 2015, I thought I was there to see your last Martinsville race, I knew after about halfway through the race, we would maybe finish Top 5 at best. But after the accident with the 20 and 22...

In 2015, I saw you win your last race. I nearly cried tears of joy, I’ve never been so happy nor excited.

In 2016, you ended up coming back to Martinsville the next year, due to Dale Jr being injured, you drove his car.

In 2016, that day, I saw you run your last race to this date.

I hope to see you race back at the paperclip some other time...

but for now.

Happy 46th Birthday Buddy, It’s been so much fun having you commentate the races with FOX the past two years, and this year, even seeing you win the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, I stayed up all 24 hours to see you pull it off.

Thanks for being an amazing inspiration, and it’s because of you my love for NASCAR and it’s fans will never die.
