Okay so. I just got back and I'm still not sure if I'm really alive..
The Block B concert in Paris was amazing. They sang really well live and it was an amazing experience to go through, especially because it was my first concert. Not everything went as expected though and here’s a little story on how I experienced this whole thing. I’m warning you beforehand I haven’t slept properly in two days and I have been out and about for over 24 hours so this might be a terrible fanaccount? We were woken up by a firealarm at 4 am so we figured we might as well get ready to go sit in queue and get a number. It was 6:30 am when we arrived at the venue and gotten the number 78 till 83 so we had to find similar numbers, show your face and like make sure you get to know each other so that you could leave and stuff. Honestly, it was a bit chaotic at first and not many people spoke English so it was hard to communicate but we found some nice people so we were good.
We figured we best stay in queue to make sure we got good spots. I had the early acces and meet and greet ticket. Every now and then we got our numbers checked and we got our color bracelets around 4pm to indicate which ticket you had.
At 5:30 or a little earlier we were allowed inside the venue. People basically ran for their lives to get a good spot and we gently pushed ourself in between. Before we knew it a lot of fans were already pushing a lot and at this point the venue wasn’t even full yet.
There was a girl in front of me and I swear she was nice but I was so annoyed, she was hella tall and didn’t want to change spots cause we’re all tiny and it was basically impossible to see past her. Somehow I managed to take some proper videos and photos with my phone. Also it really bothered me that she just had to stand in front when she didn’t even know 3 songs by them or even their freaking names. She kept asking me “who is this?” through the whole thing. Anyhow..
Now for the concert itself.
It was short. 1 hour and 10 minutes to be exact. It was ridiculously short and it felt rushed from start to end. They answered some questions and did a couple of funny things like Pyo doing a sexy dance, Park Kyung’s shoulder dance. It was all in French and some nice BBC’s were willing to translate that for us. I thought it was a shame it wasn’t in English. I understand it was in France and not every country has to speak English, but still it would’ve been nice if they’d consider the BBC’s from different countries visiting…
They performed Very Good twice. Normal and rough version. I LIKE Very Good but I don’t really wanna hear it twice. I’d rather heard Nillili Mambo. They sang Romantically, Tell Them, Be The Light, Very Good 2x, HER, Action, Mental Breaker, Nalina and I think that was it. Wait no they also did Unordinary Girl. They didn’t do a costume change, they just wore the blue velvet suits.
The stage performances were hella. Amazing and flashy and on point like expected and let me tell you these men are like ANGELS. THEY’RE SO PRETTY?????? I COULDN’T BELIEVE BBOMB WAS EVEN REAL??? HE WAS FLAWLESS?? PYO TOO?? UKWON’S HAIR WAS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD??? ZICO’S EVEN MORE?????? JAEHYO AND KYUNG WERE JUST HELLA?? taeil was a baby he is the cutest ever Ok? Ok.
During the songs, the boys behaved like expected. Into character and making a great show and performance out of it. But during the fan moments it seemed like they weren’t that excited. But more about that later.
We were allowed to send in questions and things we wanted to see from them.
Zico had to do a freestyle rap in which he basically said “yo. I’m in Paris. Strawberry. fireworks like Katy Perry”. Our rap god has proven himself once more, people applaud this genius.
He also moonwalked over the stage shaking his butt and giving Pyo half of a lapdance what the fuck is wrong with these men let the poor child alone omg. Also he grew buns. Finally.
Kyung was asked to sing a little. He sung a couple of lines of his solo song. He also did his signature shoulder dance, once on the tune of Mental Breaker. Bless his existence tbh. TAEIL SPOKE LIKE A TODDLER HE NEEDS TO STOP WHATEVER HE IS DOING IT IS HIGHLY CONFUSING FOR ME OK HE IS OLDER THAN ME DON’T TALL LIKE YOU’RE FIVE I WANT TO PAT YOU ON THE HEAD.
Bbomb did an unnecessarily couple of girl group dances including touch my body let me tell you his butt is fucking g l o r i o u s. Bbomb Buns are my new religion.
Ukwon sang a part of a song and I have to praise this fucker right here for improving so so so so so much I’m so happy I recorded this cause I wouldn’t have believed it if I wasn’t there. His singing is great.
Pyo had to back hug Jaehyo and as if this wasn’t cringe worthy enough he even kissed him on the cheek and I felt like smacking the both of them and by the reactions of the rest of the members; they felt the same.
Taeil had to do a body wave which turned into him hopping on stage like a horny bunny in spring time and Pyo slapped his butt and Ukwon almost fell of his chair laughing and cringing. Kyung basically left his seat; done with life. I don’t want to talk about this anymore I want Taeil and Pyo to marry.
Wait I can’t remember what Jaehyo did.. omg omg omg I can’t remember what Jaehyo did I’m what.
Ok I asked my friend he only did the back hug with Pyo. He answered a question.
So after the concert no one asked for an encore. Which was odd imo. Especially considering the amount of time they spent on stage, you’d think that the fans wanted more after 1 hour and 10 minutes. The boys took a picture with the crowd like always and left to the dressing rooms. Then, we were supposed to form lines if you had a meet and greet. If not, you were passive aggressively asked to leave. This was when more chaos started brewing.
The boys were placed behind a desk for the fan sign. I swear they are so tiny, the illusion of them being tall af has been shattered before my own eyes omg. Pyo is like 175cm-180cm and the rest is all 170cm and way below. Kyung and Taeil were definitely 160cm. Ukwon and Zico were pretty much 165cm I thought Zico would’ve been taller. Like I said, Illusion shattered. Jaehyo and Bbomb were just a little shorter than Pyo so I’d say 170cm. Idk but knowing their height was important to me hahah.
There were approximately 200 people for the freaking fan sign and picture. It was just so hectic and chaotic and we got a paper shoved in our hands which was for the signs you’ll get when you walk past the table. It was all quick quick quick but I recorded myself talking to the members during the sign so I’m happy. I could only say one sentence and the response was mostly “Thank You”. They looked tired and some slightly annoyed.
After the sign was done you had to get in line again for the picture. More chaos. They said they’d do pictures with like 5-7-10 either one of those but eventually we got a picture with at least 15 people at the same time and none of them were being considerate for the other fans. Me and my friends were pushed in front of Block B who stood on a slight platform so they were above/behind us. I threw my jacket on the side cause hell I didn’t put on this outfit to cover it with my winterjacket.
The girls in front of me and my friends didn’t crouch down like the others did in the pictures and literally blocked my face. So me being me, I opened that big mouth of mine and immediately shouted wth my face isn’t even on it to the camera lady from Mymusictaste. But my friends didn’t. Upset, they were literally being pushed away from Block b to the exit. While people who went way before us got to high 5 them. Block B didn't initiate the high 5 either. They just chilled.
I told the lady that someone was in front of me and that my face probably wasn’t on the pic. She rushed me to the side, told me to wait and take the pictures again. Before I could tell about my other friends having the same issue she rushed off to make talk to other staff and later take another picture when the other fans joined me. Meanwhile I had a little chat with Kyung and Taeil who were super super friendly. When I was in the crowd during the concert I shouted for Kyung and he looked at us and smiled and waved. So I told him that was me and he called me the best BBC. Taeil asked if I enjoyed the show. Those seconds seemed to have lasted for hours. Amazing seconds..
I then took a second picture and basically forced the members to do the high 5 with me cause the other fans were being pushed away and I stayed behind to do this. Bbomb slapped my hand hard but he smiled. They all seemed distracted or very tired. They kept looking at the crowd and not paying attention to the fans in front of them. This was a little disappointing.
The moment I rejoined my friends who insisted on waiting for me (bless them) while the rest of the fans were being pushed out, rudely, I saw a different lady from Mymusictaste. My friends were crying and upset cause this cost alot of money and it was basically rushed and ruined. I explained the situation and she was very very very helpful and wanted to help us more by letting us take another picture but the security guard picked a fight with me.
He started talking french through to me while I was talking to the lady. I told him that I was talking to her and not him and that I didn’t even speak French. He then held a speech on that he doesn’t need to know English but I should know french to understand him Idk he was so rude and pushing me and arguing.
He managed to get us outside anyways sigh and then the lady came to me again sneakily. She told me to grab my friends and come inside again to those a new pic and avoid the security guard, but if he asked; I lost my scarf. I shoved my scarf in the sleeve of my jacket, making it invisible to the eye. We slipped past him, one friend was crying still and the other spoke to a different lady from Mymusictaste about the problem. I mean 185 euros. All the way from Holland. I will not leave before this is fixed.
I found the camera lady again, told her what the situation was with a crying friend next to me. We looked at the pictures and indeed, we were barely on it. She apologized and told me to email her to come to a compromise. I told her I did enjoy the concert nonetheless and that they worked hard. She immediately interrupted me by saying “no, it was a mess.”
I don’t really blame Mymusictaste for this, I was more the security, but also the fans were ridiculous with screaming and pushing and whatnot. The concert was too short, because when I spoke to a girl outside the venue, she told me she saw the tracklist of the concert, which had to be around 2+hours. Not 1 hour and 10 minutes.
I don’t know what went wrong or that they were maybe in over their head with the amount of fans who bought the signtickets, but it was just chaotic. Again, I don’t blame them for anything. They really did work hard and managed to stay very nice and willing to help when there’s an issue.
Overall, when I look back, I did enjoy the concert itself. I mean I got the see Block B from like the second row!!!! So so so close and they were amazing and just yes very yes.
I hope that the rest of you who are getting to see them the coming days have as much fun as I did during the concert and beforehand. I met a lot of great people and I would do the whole thing all over again all day every day even though I haven’t properly slept in 3 days. This was unnecessarily long. Sorry for that.
