Q: What's better than a 7-litre V8? A: A 27-litre V12. That's what. For you yanks out there, that's 1647 cubic inches. This insane machine was dubbed "Lucy" by its creators Clive and Bruce Woolley, after Clive's mother's middle name. Sitting at the heart of this monstrosity is a 1943 Liberty tank engine. Initially a WW1 airplane engine, but by WW2 it had found itself being put into service in tanks. Now it scares people around South Africa. It is a beautiful creation, and one ideally seen (and heard) in real life, especially to see (and hear) rather large flames being spat out by the 12 individual exhausts. Utter madness. Oh, and 1550Nm with a redone at 1650rpm. With mundanity seemingly being bread into just about every vehicle by just about every manufacturer these days, it is incredible to see that there are still individuals out there willing to build such utter madness! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #v12 #27litre #tankengine #liberty #rollroyce #diybuild #homemade #madness #dragon #breathefire #shootingflames #flameon #southafrica #johannesburg #joburg #jozi #classiccarafrica #cpca #autofotograf #autofotografwien #wienerfotograf #wien #oliverhphoto #libertyl12 #fokker (at Johannesburg, South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHcuJHsl3_T/?igshid=16e9ntos3ny0a
