Vanish into you Pt. 2 (Erik Sundqvist x Reader)
A/N: Part two babyyyy I apologize for the delay <3 Let me know if you want a part 3 and if you want smut in it, muah 💋
Here is part one <3
As you walked into the house, you noticed the silence that enveloped it, dad and Spike were god knows where but that meant you had the house to yourself. You walked up the rickety steps and turned into mums’ room. The air in her room felt different, heavier. You stood at the edge of the bed, staring at the permanent dip in the bed from where she stayed most of the time, in her last months of being alive. As the older sister, you always found it your responsibility to be the rational, level headed one, you had to stay strong for everyone else around you. But now, standing in front of your mothers bed, you finally gave in, body going limp, crumbling on the bed in front of you, and crying.
Sobs racked your body for a good while, letting every emotion spill out on the sheets in front of you, with the occasional scream into the pillow, before you felt a hand on yours. You flinched and rolled over to see Spike frowning slightly at you.
“I’m sorry you didn’t get to say goodbye..”
he spoke softly and you only muffled out a cry in response. Spike sat down in the bed next to you and continued to speak after a few short moments of silence.
“You know, I don’t even want to have this stupid party, but dad was so adamant about it” He sighed, looking down at his shoes.
“Oh, I believe it” you muttered bitterly, sitting up from the bed and wiping away the tears and hair that clung to your face.
“He’s just oh so eager to forget mum with a quickness, we should be grieving, not celebrating” Anger brewed high in your chest, further adding to your anguish.
“Its gonna okay sis..lets just get through tonight, deal with dads bullshit and then tomorrow, we can hold a vigil for mum by the water, I have some candles and rosary the ladies next door gave me when they heard about mum” Spike said, putting a comforting hand on you shoulder. You sniffle and nod.
“Okay Spikey, that sounds nice.”
An hour later and you’ve calmed down enough to start getting ready for the party. You wondered if Erik would actually show up, or just hole up in the hayloft all night. You slipped on your favorite dress you owned and stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the short dress and your hair every five seconds. Spike strolled into the room and snickered at you.
“What? Trying to impress Eriiiiik?” Spike teased, fanning his face and batting his eyelashes to mock you. You rolled your eyes and threw a pillow at him.
“Oh piss off Spike! I just wanted to look nice, that's all, mum made me this dress remember?” you say smoothing over the wrinkles on the front.
“Yeah yeah, whatever you say butthead, now let's go dads waiting downstairs.” Spike says before trotting down the steps.
You give yourself one last lookover and try to shake your nerves as you descend the stairs, being greeted by Spike and your father, who already looked impatient. He looked you up and down and tilted his head slightly.
“You’re sure dressed to impress” Your father eyes you suspiciously and you shrug your shoulders, rolling your eyes a bit.
“Just wanted to look nice dad..” you muttered. Spike stepped out the door and you tried to follow suit but were stopped by a large arm blocking the door. You look up at your father, a peeved look on your face.
“Be careful around that boy, we don’t know him” He warns, and you roll your eyes a bit.
“Yeah, whatever dad i’m not going to-”
“I mean it.” The low and gravelly timbre of his voice shook right through you, a slight iciness shot through your spine. You looked up and nodded softly.
“Yes dad, I will.” You assure, not wanting to test his temper at the moment. He nodded and moved his arm out of the way, and you slipped out of the door without another word.
The party seemed to be in full swing, a sea of people dancing, musicians, and drunkards all alike cluttered the space. The lights were dim and the music was loud, an overwhelming smell of alcohol made the room almost suffocating. Still, you found yourself looking for a face in the crowd. You scanned and scanned until eventually your eyes settled on Erik and Spike in the corner of the room, talking and eating. Although, Erik seemed to be doing most of the listening, as he wolfed down a plate of food and Spike babbled on about whatever. You feel a smile pull at your features and you giggle to yourself softly, happy to see your brother back and well, and to see Erik adjusting nicely.
“Hey guys” you smile softly at them as you approach, grabbing a chair and sitting down next to them. Erik tried to suppress the look on his face when he saw you, and almost choked on his food. He cleared his throat, trying to ignore the small blush creeping on his face.
“Hey” He said calmly, making an obvious attempt to play it cool, Spike snickered at him, and Erik shot him a glare.
“I’m really glad you came” You tell him, smiling down at your lap and then looking up to meet his eyes. Erik nods, still trying to keep up his cool guy persona.
“Yeah, beats sitting up in that dusty hayloft” He chuckled and you grimaced slightly, feeling guilty at the reminder of him having to stay up there.
“Oh God yeah, i’m so sorry about that” you look off into the crowd, a bit embarrassed at your village's lack of hospitality.
Suddenly, Spike is swooped up by your already drunken father, placing him on his shoulders and parading him around the party, shouting slurred nonsense about him being a warrior and whatnot. Spike looked back at you, a pleading look on his face. Your eyebrows furrow and you mouth back an ‘I’m sorry’.
“Your dad, he seems uhhh..” Erik tried to break the awkward moment by speaking when you cut him off. “Drunk? Annoying? Wait no, insufferable!! That's the best way to describe him.” You finished for him, looking back at your father and gritting your teeth. Erik lets out a surprised chuckle.
“Damn village girl, feeling fiery tonight huh?” He asks, giving you another look up and down. He leans back to get a good look at you, taking his fingers and pinching the bottom hem of your dress, his finger ghosting over your thigh. You shivered slightly and looked up at him, eyes widened. He rubbed the fabric between his fingers and said
“Cute dress angel, looks real good on you.” He smirked and you nearly felt your brain misfire.
“Um, th-thank you, Erik.” You mumbled. He chuckled and looked around for any nosey onlookers and leaned in.
“How about we get outta here? The hayloft has room for two you know..” He smiled at you and you felt your insides erupt with butterflies. The thought excited you, and nerved you all the same. Erik sensed your hesitation and continued.
“We don’t have to do anything you're not comfortable with you know, we can just I dunno, maybe share a drink up there? It’s too rowdy in here anyhow.” he assured and you nodded, taking a nervous look behind you.
“I’m not sure Erik, I really want to but my dad-”
“Is waving Spike around like a parade float” Erik interrupted bluntly, and you giggled a bit.
“ Come on angel, he won't even notice we’re gone” He added, putting a comforting hand atop of yours, his was so much bigger than yours, covered in scars and subtle veins that ran down to his forearms, it made your stomach flutter.
“alright then..I guess if we’re not gone for too long..” You whisper. Erik has a wolfish grin that spreads across his face.
“That's what I like to hear sweetheart”. He practically purrs in your ear, his voice deepening leaving your skin erupted in goosebumps.
He grabs you by the hand gently, ushering you out the back door with a strong hand on the small of your back. You weren’t sure where the night was going to lead you but it made your body jittery with excitement. You make your way to the hayloft, Erik still was holding your hand the entire walk. You talked about nothing in particular, just learning each other's backgrounds and what led him to join the military. As you approach the hayloft Erik looks down at you smiling and gestures up to the ladder.
“Ladies first.”
