#2808 #kirby #daily kirby #my art #digital #hal laboratory #nintendo #so I got an email from the va today #or it might have been from the bva? not important. anyway.#news! the board has made a ruling on my disability compensation appeal #that thing I had a hearing for like a year and a half ago #is it good news? is it bad news? didn't say!#I signed into my va account online to see if it specified there #it did not!#in fact it said the appeal was just filed today???#even though I filed it over 5 years ago???#(yes really)#I had too much other stuff to do today to sit on hold for an hour in order to ask someone #and I'm gonna be at my wife's all weekend and don't wanna waste time on hold during that either #so I guess??? the news is just that there will be news???#(they've mailed me the decision like on paper)#(or they will shortly. unclear.)#(so it'll get here when it gets here.)#(I kinda suspect they didn't rule in my favor)#(for several reasons really)#(even though obviously I've filed my compensation claim in good faith and I believe I have a good case)#(but even if my appeal was rejected the judge at the hearing said I can actually appeal higher than them which I hadn't known before that)#(and at least if I have to appeal again that's like. actionable. that's something to *do* rather than just waiting for things to improve.)#(it would be nice to just get my dang compensation already tho.)#okay I checked again and there's more info than I saw before but it is basically 'we'll get back to you' which kinda worst option tbh

Aradia has had enough of the Alpha Tmeline.

No matter how stoic she may appear, there's a part of her that can't stand to see her friends suffer - and that part of her is finally gaining ground against the mental conditioning of the Voices.

She doesn't want this, and all her posturing about how it's pointless to fight the inevitable tide of fate is revealed as the coping mechanism it always was. This is wrong, she knows it's wrong, and even if it's pointless, she has to at least try to help.

You know, I'm starting to understand why this fatalism was so intoxicating to Aradia. The Alpha offers her freedom from consequences, allowing her to act on her impulses without worrying about the fallout.

After all, if something is supposed to break, then it's pretty much already broken.

And who can blame you for breaking something that's already broken?

They'd probably break it too, given half a chance.

She's really woken up, hasn't she? Most of the damage is already done, but it's just so gratifying to hear Aradia finally catching on, in real time.

Especially since the first thing she's choosing to do, after climbing out of the hole she's in, is extend a hand down to Rose.

Damn it, this is so frustrating.

Rose doesn't understand what it means that Aradia is saying these things. This girl is fighting back literal years of depression, apathy and mental conditioning to try and help Rose see another way, but she's getting treated like just another run-of-the-mill troll. Listen, Rose!
