Northborough, Massachusetts – September 2, 2016 – GOAL seeks all public records pertaining to Healey’s politically motivated attack on law abiding gun owners. This morning the Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL) of Massachusetts announced that they have filed a FOIA request for all public records pertaining to Attorney General Maura Healey’s controversial new interpretation of Massachusetts gun laws she announced announced on July 20, 2016. “Since 1994 everyone understood the laws and abided by them. The federal government (BATFE), the state government (EOPSS), the manufacturers, the family business retailers and the families that purchased firearms. What is clear to everyone is that the only person who did not understand the law was, in fact, Attorney General Maura Healey,” said Jim Wallace Executive Director of GOAL. “With everyone else on the same page and having a clear understanding of the law, we want all of the information in her possession, which shows everyone else has been wrong for over two decades and she is right. Further, we are asking for information she may have on why this new brand of gun she has invented is a proven public safety threat in the hands of lawful citizens in the Commonwealth.
