Since I apparently can’t shut up about Masshole tendencies this week, one more for the road and then I promise I'm done. In my mind, this story exists in the Heated Rivalry universe when one of Ilya’s teammates on the Bears was getting razzed by the other players for moving to the suburbs and he parroted this back, as told to him by his real estate agent.
Anyway, one time I overheard this guy telling a woman about how he loved living in Lexington, which is a suburban town about 10 miles from Boston. The woman said it was too far from the city for her and the guy was saying that it really wasn’t. His big argument was, “You know, the British walked there during the war.”
You know, during the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The battle that kicked off the Revolutionary War. Because only a Masshole would say “the war” and be referring to the American Revolution.
